According to a representative from the VinFuture organizing committee, this year's awards cover a wide range of fields, including healthcare (38.4%); environment and earth sciences (17%); energy, transportation, and construction (15%); food and agriculture (10.6%), and other science and technology fields (19%).
VinFuture's official nominating partner network continues to expand with 17,154 partners from 117 countries and territories across all five continents. This represents an increase of approximately 16% compared to the 2025 season and more than 14 times the size of the first season in 2021. Simultaneously, the number of countries and territories with nominating partners has nearly doubled in six years.

In the 2026 awards season, nominations in the medicine and healthcare sector continued to dominate (38.4%), alongside essential fields such as environment and earth sciences, energy, transportation and construction, food and agriculture, etc.
According to the organizers, the 1,415 nominated partners of VinFuture 2026 belong to the top 2% of the world's most cited researchers. Nearly 8,000 experts come from prestigious universities, research institutes, and scientific organizations globally, such as: the Australian Academy of Science, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Stanford University, Harvard University, the University of California, Berkeley (USA), Oxford University (UK), the National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU, Singapore), the Weizmann Institute (Israel), etc.
Nominating partners participate on a voluntary basis and play a crucial role in identifying and nominating outstanding scientific works that have the potential to create positive changes in the lives of people worldwide. They also contribute to spreading VinFuture's influence to the international scientific community and fostering cross-border academic connections. Several outstanding nominating partners visited Vietnam during the VinFuture Science and Technology Weeks in 2024 and 2025 to connect and exchange knowledge directly with the domestic scientific community.
"The continued large number of nominations, along with a network of over 17,000 partners, shows that more and more reputable scientists and organizations around the world trust and collaborate with VinFuture in its journey to discover and celebrate scientific and technological innovations that have practical significance for humanity," said Dr. Le Thai Ha, Executive Director of the VinFuture Foundation. "This also motivates VinFuture to continue steadfastly pursuing rigorous, transparent evaluation standards and a vision of connecting global intelligence."
Following the nomination round, the Preliminary Judging Panel will proceed with the evaluation and selection of outstanding projects to advance to the final judging round of the VinFuture Awards, expected to last until early September. According to the organizers, all applications will be assessed through a multi-layered process with strict international standards, ensuring the highest level of scientific rigor, fairness, and transparency.
The core evaluation criteria include: the level of technological advancement, the positive impact on people's lives, and the scale and sustainability of the project.
After six years, the VinFuture Award has gradually affirmed its position and prestige on the global science and technology map. Many of the award's winners have gone on to be honored with Nobel Prizes, Queen Elizabeth II Awards for Engineering, and Breakthrough Awards, among others.
Professor Omar Yaghi received the VinFuture Special Prize in 2021, and subsequently the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2025. Dr. Katalin Karikova and Professor Drew Weissman received the VinFuture Main Prize in 2021, and subsequently the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 2023. Dr. Demis Hassabis and Dr. John Jumper received the VinFuture Special Prize in 2022 and subsequently the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2024. Professor Geoffrey Hinton received the VinFuture Main Prize in 2024 and the Nobel Prize in Physics in the same year.
Experts believe that, after six seasons, VinFuture is contributing to shaping a more open, connected, and inspiring scientific ecosystem, making Vietnam an important destination on the global innovation map.
