Relieve anxiety about safe vaccination

Người Lao ĐộngNgười Lao Động13/05/2023

At the Children and Adult Vaccination Center (VNVC) system, many parents who bring their children to VNVC for vaccination also show great concern about this issue, especially the safety of children. To reassure people, on May 13, VNVC provided information explaining how to scientifically preserve vaccines and safely vaccinate.

At VNVC, the vaccine preservation process always ensures the safety of hundreds of vaccine cold storage warehouses that meet international Good Storage Practices (GSP) standards along with a cold chain system, especially owning a system of 3 deep cold storage warehouses, preserving vaccines at minus 86 degrees Celsius, meeting international standards for the entire process of preserving, transporting, supplying and putting vaccines into use. At the same time, the VNVC cold storage system can preserve up to 3 million doses of vaccine at all standard temperatures.

VNVC's GSP-standard vaccine cold chain system

Vaccines are very sensitive biological products that can be damaged, lose their value or degrade under the influence of temperature, humidity, environment, light and other factors such as shaking, tilting, breaking... which can cause safety risks for the vaccinated person. Vaccines are only safe for users when they are stored according to Good Storage Practices (GSP) standards and a cold chain system, which is a standard for assessing the quality and standards of a cold storage system and cold chain. This is the result of an elaborate and costly construction process that requires strict compliance to carry out many complex procedures.

Ensuring the quality and safety of vaccines is the first important requirement of the vaccination process. This is determined by a chain of operations from production, storage, transportation to use, which must comply with strict standards, with special attention paid to the temperature of vaccine storage. Most vaccines are required to be kept at a fixed temperature ranging from 2-8 degrees Celsius, however, there are vaccines that need to be stored at extremely low temperatures of minus 70 degrees, minus 40 degrees... The cold chain is an important chain of equipment and processes that ensures the criteria for transporting and preserving this particularly sensitive product.

Notably, VNVC has a modern software system to monitor, supervise, and warn about each vial and batch of vaccine. Batches of vaccines that require special storage will be stored in a separate area and monitored in real time by a specialized security camera system, connected to an on-site audio warning system and emails and messages to assigned specialists.

Unlike other vaccination units that use conventional refrigerators to preserve vaccines, all VNVC vaccination rooms are equipped with specialized vaccine storage cabinets, with a temperature preservation system synchronized with a self-recording thermometer and a surveillance camera. At the end of each day, unused vaccines will be collected by VNVC and returned to GSP-standard cold storage located at each center for higher safety monitoring. Therefore, 100% of vaccines used at VNVC vaccination rooms are high-quality, safe vaccines.

Vaccines that are not eligible for use or have expired will be transferred to a separate cold storage area and processed according to VNVC's procedures and the Ministry of Health 's instructions.

VNVC is the first unit in Vietnam to be certified and use a professional GSP-standard refrigerated transport system with more than 30 refrigerated vaccine transport vehicles meeting the Ministry of Health 's GSP standards, considered as mobile vaccine cold storages, ready to supply vaccines to more than 100 large vaccination centers nationwide.

In Vietnam, VNVC is the only vaccination system that has a post-vaccination care hotline and receives and guides timely treatment of post-vaccination reactions thanks to a team of doctors on duty 24/7, closely coordinating with emergency units in localities, to provide timely support to people across the country, including people not vaccinated at the VNVC system.

With a large investment in a high-end cold storage system that meets international standards, VNVC imports and supplies large quantities of many types of vaccines from all major vaccine manufacturers worldwide such as Glaxosmithkline - GSK (Belgium), Sanofi Pasteur (France), Pfizer (USA), Merck Sharp and Dohme...
