According to a VNA correspondent in Australia, within the framework of implementing the Economic Diplomacy Project 2025, the Vietnamese Embassy in Australia attended the 6th Australia-ASEAN Business Forum (AABF) and organized a Vietnamese booth at the forum's Trade Fair, which took place on August 26-27 at the Adelaide Convention Center, South Australia.
The activity aims to promote trade and enhance the presence of Vietnamese brands and products in Australia, especially in the fashion industry, thereby promoting export opportunities and bringing Vietnamese brands to local consumers.
The event attracted more than 750 business leaders, policy makers and experts from ASEAN and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) countries. The forum was attended by Australian Governor-General Sam Mostyn, South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas and ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn.
With the theme “Advancing ASEAN’s Sustainability Agenda,” the forum focused on the following areas: renewable energy and green economy; agriculture and food security; digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI); skills and human capital development; empowering micro, small and medium enterprises; and trade and investment.
As an important activity within the framework of the forum, the exhibition is where ASEAN countries and many businesses from both sides introduce their brands and typical products to partners and delegates attending the forum, contributing practically to connecting and enhancing understanding between Australia and ASEAN countries.
At the exhibition, the Vietnamese booth introduced many strong products such as textiles, agricultural and aquatic products, and handicrafts.
Notably, some fashion products made from banana fibers - a creative, environmentally friendly approach - have received attention from visitors, contributing to promoting the image of Vietnamese brands associated with the trend of sustainable development.

Introducing innovative, environmentally friendly products such as banana fiber fashion not only helps Vietnamese businesses access potential markets, but also contributes to affirming the image of a dynamic, creative country, linking economic development with sustainable goals.
This is also a testament to Vietnam's efforts to implement economic diplomacy, bringing the "Made in Vietnam" brand further into the global value chain.
According to the Vietnam Customs Department, in the first 6 months of 2025, Vietnam-Australia import-export turnover reached 6.72 billion USD. The two countries aim to increase bilateral trade turnover to 20 billion USD and double two-way investment in the coming time./.
