Approximately 4 million locals and tourists visited this sacred land.

The Hung Kings Commemoration Day has long been a major national holiday for the entire Vietnamese people. Wherever they are, Vietnamese people remember the Hung Kings Commemoration Day and turn their thoughts towards the ancestral land – Hung Temple ( Phu Tho province ) – a focal point of Vietnamese culture and spirituality, a place to remember and honor the contributions of the Hung Kings, and a symbol of national unity.

The Hung Kings Commemoration Day and the Hung Kings' Cultural and Tourism Week in the year of the Snake 2025, organized by the People's Committee of Phu Tho province, will take place from March 29th to April 7th (corresponding to the 1st to 10th day of the 3rd lunar month) at the Hung Kings' Temple Historical Site, Hung Kings' Square, Viet Tri City. The ceremonial part will be solemn, dignified, and respectful, following the national cultural tradition with the ritual of offering incense and flowers.

Traditional folk rituals include: the Commemoration Ceremony for National Ancestor Lac Long Quan and the offering of incense to commemorate Ancestress Au Co. In addition, the ceremony also includes the Commemoration Ceremony for Hung Kings and the offering of flowers at the relief sculpture "President Ho Chi Minh speaking with officers and soldiers of the Vanguard Army"; the offering of incense to commemorate the Hung Kings by districts, cities, and towns in Phu Tho province; and the procession of palanquins from communes, wards, and towns surrounding the historical site to Hung Temple.

The festival includes more than 25 unique cultural, sports, and tourism activities aimed at creating a joyful, healthy atmosphere, deeply rooted in the cultural heritage of the region. These include: the opening art program of the Hung King Temple Festival; exhibitions and presentations of documents and artifacts from the Hung King era; a cultural camp and exhibitions promoting local products and specialties; the Ancestral Land Book Fair; an art orchid exhibition; fireworks display; traditional bronze drum and pestle playing; evening cultural and artistic performances; the "Viet Tri Livemusic" street music program; and more.

Mr. Nguyen Dac Thuy, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Tho province, said that the Hung Kings Commemoration Day and the Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week in the year of the Snake 2025 is an event of special significance, expressing reverence and gratitude for the merits of the Hung Kings. It is also an opportunity to introduce and promote the image of the ancestral homeland – a sacred land with a rich history, culture, and tourism development potential.

It is estimated that Phu Tho will receive around 4 million visitors during this year's Hung Temple Festival. Currently, Phu Tho has 345 relics dedicated to Hung Kings, including the Hung Temple historical site, covering over 800 hectares, which is planned to become the largest spiritual and cultural park in the country. This will create an attractive environment for tourists, widely promoting the potential and strengths of the province's cultural tourism resources.

Enhancing the infrastructure and landscape of the Hung Temple historical site.

Within the framework of the project "Restoration and beautification of the landscape infrastructure of the Hung Temple historical site," with a total budget of over 20 billion VND supported by Hanoi City, the Hung Temple historical site is currently beautifying its green, clean, and beautiful grounds, and upgrading the landscape system in the area around the Well Temple.

In addition to the area around the Well Temple, the Hung Temple historical site is also focusing on repairing and preventing slippage on the paths leading to and from the temples; rearranging and reorganizing the entire area of stalls and service vendors to ensure civility, politeness, and aesthetics; maintaining and repairing the water supply system, electrical system, and public sanitation facilities; planting and replacing flowers and ornamental plants around the historical site...

Mr. Pham Tien Dat, Director of the Hung Temple Historical Relic Area, said that in addition to investing in and renovating projects and works within the relic area to serve tourists attending the 2025 festival, the relic area also requires business households to sign commitments not to exchange small denominations of money, not to solicit tourists, not to overcharge, and to sell goods at the listed prices; ensuring security and order at parking lots… This will meet the business needs of local households serving the people and tourists visiting Hung Temple, ensuring a green, clean, and beautiful landscape, ready to welcome visitors to the Ancestral Land.

Forecasting a significant increase in the number of visitors to Hung Temple during the Hung King Commemoration Day this year due to it coinciding with a public holiday, districts, cities, and towns will focus their human and financial resources to ensure the successful participation in activities serving the Hung King Commemoration Day and the Hung King Cultural and Tourism Week.
