(BGĐT) - Environmental sanitation activities, including proper waste collection, sorting, and disposal, are being regularly maintained by the Women's Association of Dong 2 residential area, Kep town (Lang Giang - Bac Giang ), helping to keep the neighborhood green, clean, and beautiful.
Upon arriving at Dong 2 residential area, we felt the fresh air thanks to the lush green landscape, the rows of trees and flowerbeds that were beautifully cared for and trimmed; the streets and canals were free of scattered or accumulated waste.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen, a member, shared: "The positive changes we see today are thanks to the implementation of the project 'Propagating, mobilizing, and guiding women members to collect, sort, and dispose of household waste according to regulations'."

The Women's Association of Dong 2 residential area has over 150 members. To ensure environmental sanitation becomes a regular and systematic practice, the Association has focused on raising awareness and mobilizing support. Through this awareness campaign, 100% of members and residents have developed the habit of sorting and disposing of waste at home, significantly reducing the amount of waste released into the environment and saving on collection, transportation, and processing costs. The yards of each family and the streets are now cleaner and more beautiful.
Every week, officials and members actively participate in the "Green Sunday" initiative. At the end of each month, members collect and gather scrap materials at the Cultural Center to sell and raise funds. From these funds, the branch association allocates money to donate gifts, books, and bicycles to students in difficult circumstances. "Currently, the branch association is implementing a model of processing organic waste using microbial enzymes to make fertilizer for plants, with 50 members participating, reducing the amount of waste that needs to be processed," said Ms. An Thi Tuyet, the branch association leader.
Ms. Chu Thi Thanh Van, President of the Women's Union of Kep town, said that the environmental sanitation activities of the Women's Union branch in Dong 2 residential area have spread to other neighborhoods. The Union will continue to expand these activities to mobilize members to work together to maintain an increasingly green, clean, and beautiful environment.
