In recent days, a song parody of the poem Luom has caused controversy. Audiences were angry when the poem, which was meant to depict the heroic young messenger boy during the resistance war, was turned into a meaningless, nonsense rap song. The rap was performed by 2see and remixed by DJ FWIN.
Talking to Zing , DJ FWIN - who made the rap mix - said that his version was the most used by TikTok users. It reached millions of views, but when faced with negative reactions from the audience, he decided to remove it.
“I didn’t write the rap, I just did the remix. I saw it on a rapper’s channel a year ago and remixed it. I posted it on my personal channel about a year ago. However, about a month ago, a TikTok account used my remix and added a video that the person made.
Since then, the song I made has become a trend and has millions of views. However, the song received too much negative feedback so I decided to remove it. In the future, I will be more careful and meticulous in making music to avoid similar mistakes,” said DJ FWIN.
Reporter Rapper 2See has yet to respond to the controversy.
A series of videos use music from the poem "Lượm".
The viral song on TikTok and the hashtag "Chubeloatchoat" (PV: Chubeloatchoat) has more than 18.4 million views on this platform as of the evening of April 24. The parody song has been used in a series of videos, some of which have up to 10 million views. Notably, in many videos, users pose offensively, even standing on tables and chairs, wearing ao dai but in inappropriate poses or wearing bikinis.
The lyrics of the remix are also considered meaningless, not keeping the spirit of the original. “Slim boy, pretty bag, nimble legs, cropped head / The wind blows the bamboo branches like 'Prada' / What is the hot trend on the internet / Painting a tiger, painting its skin, painting its bones, is difficult / The immortal knows his face on Nguyen Tri Phuong street / Laughing at someone today, tomorrow people will laugh / Hearing a hundred times is not as good as seeing the morning of October 10 / If you want to come here, you have to build a bridge / If you want your children to be good at reading, you have to spend a lot of money” , is the content of the rap song that is spreading on TikTok.
Recently, the situation of music parody on TikTok has repeatedly angered public opinion. Musician Ngo Minh Tai commented that there are many reasons why the situation of music parody has become serious, first is the lack of censorship and then the explosion of social networks, causing producers and young audiences to often follow trends. They focus on the melody, especially in the first seconds of the song, rather than the content and lyrics.
“I don’t judge, but from my perspective, audiences of the 9X and 8X generations may consider those poems and essays to be very valuable. But for younger audiences, many of you may not see that value. You think that changing a few words in that work is nothing. Some of you even have quite sensitive dance moves, so when you add them to that song, it becomes even more distorted,” the musician said.
