Pop star Taylor Swift continues to assert her global appeal as her new album “The Life of a Showgirl” released on October 3 quickly broke a series of streaming records on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music platforms.

The 35-year-old singer's 12th album includes 12 vibrant pop songs revolving around love, fame, success and "responses."

On the album, Swift reunites with renowned Swedish production duo Max Martin and Shellback, delivering catchy melodies and upbeat beats.

On its first day of release, “Showgirl” became the most-streamed album of 2025 on Spotify and Apple Music, and broke the all-time record on Amazon Music – surpassing her own album “The Tortured Poets Department,” which she released in 2024.

Notably, the title track “The Fate of Ophelia” also set a record for first-day listening on Apple Music and in Spotify history.

Unlike the contemplation in previous albums such as “Folklore” (released in 2020), “Evermore” (2020) or “Midnights” (2022), “Showgirl” has a more cheerful and liberal spirit, reflecting Swift's current happy life with her fiancé Travis Kelce - NFL football star, the pride of regaining ownership of old recordings, and the brilliant echoes from the “Eras Tour” that broke all sales records.

At the same time, the album still contains the singer's thorny side. For example, in the song "Father Figure" , she openly criticizes the unfair power dynamics in the music industry, allegedly aimed at Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun - who held the copyright to her first 6 albums.

Upon its release, “Showgirl” became a global cultural event. Thousands of fans bought tickets to release parties at cinemas in many cities, where the music video for “The Fate of Ophelia” and behind-the-scenes videos were shown. According to Deadline magazine’s estimate, this special cinema event could earn 30-50 million USD in just the first weekend./.
