Ho Chi Minh City officially opens the World Summit on Smart Communities

With the theme "Smart and Investment Ready - Transforming Vietnam's Economy", the conference focused on the 6 core pillars of the world's Intelligent Community Forum (ICF), in line with the city's digital transformation orientation. The event brought together more than 600 global leaders, urban experts, technology corporations and leading investors, becoming an important forum to promote international cooperation and promote the image of Vietnam.

On December 3, the opening ceremony of the Intelligent Community Forum Global Summit 2025 officially took place at the Binh Duong Exhibition and Convention Center, Ho Chi Minh City. The event was hosted by the City People's Committee in coordination with the Intelligent Community Forum and Becamex Group.

Hosting this conference not only affirms the position of Ho Chi Minh City but also marks the inheritance and promotion of achievements from Binh Duong province - the locality that was honored by ICF as the Smart Community of the Year 2023. Mr. Lou Zacharilla, co-founder of ICF, commented that this is a rare story of inheritance in the organization's 23-year history, recognizing the development and increasing influence of Vietnam.

During the two-day event, delegates will participate in many meaningful activities, the highlight of which is the Smart Community of 2025 Announcement Ceremony. High-level panels and strategic discussions chaired by ICF founders with the participation of many international leaders and experts will bring in-depth dialogues on sustainable urban development, digital transformation and investment attraction.

Previously, on the evening of December 2, a grand welcome and honoring party for the Top 7 Smart Communities of the World in 2025 was held. Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Loc Ha emphasized that this is an opportunity to connect and open up new cooperation. This year's Top 7 includes cities from Brazil, Türkiye, Canada, the United States and Spain.

ICF Global Summit 2025 is expected to be a golden opportunity for Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam to affirm their commitment to smart development, expand international cooperation and shape a sustainable economic future./.
