Training to improve child protection capacity for core forces at the grassroots level

QTO - On the morning of December 3, in Nam Dong Ha ward, the Department of Health coordinated with the Plan Project Office in Quang Tri to organize the opening of a training course to improve capacity for the core team of the commune-level child protection committee.

The program took place from December 3-4, with the participation of 30 students who are members of the Child Protection Board of La Lay, Ta Rut, Dakrong, Huong Hiep communes; representatives of organizations, village chiefs and psychological counselors of schools in the area.

Within the framework of the training, trainees are equipped with core contents on child protection work, such as: The reality of child abuse; how to identify and indicate risks; support and intervention processes and the role of the child protection team in each step of case handling. The contents are deployed by group discussion, situation analysis and practice of 6 steps of case management process.

In addition, trainees are reinforced with presentation, leading, listening, feedback and dispute resolution skills, preparing for the implementation of training courses at the grassroots level.

The training course contributes to enhancing the capacity of core staff in receiving, handling and coordinating support for cases of child abuse in the locality.
