On the morning of December 3, the thematic exhibition "Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam and the tradition of education and examinations in Ha Tinh province" officially opened at the Ha Tinh Temple of Literature. The exhibition takes place from December 3, 2025 to December 31, 2025, organized by the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam in coordination with the Ha Tinh Museum.

The event took place in the atmosphere towards the 950th anniversary of the founding of Quoc Tu Giam (1076 - 2026), and was a highlight activity to connect the heritage of Thang Long - Hanoi with the land of learning Ha Tinh.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Tran Xuan Luong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Tinh affirmed that Ha Tinh has long been considered a land of learning with a glorious tradition of mandarin examinations: 148 people passed the Dai Khoa exams and hundreds of bachelors and bachelors in nearly a millennium of Confucian examinations.

In recent years, Ha Tinh has continued to maintain its leading position nationwide in terms of education quality, while strongly spreading the movement to encourage learning and build a learning society.

“The exhibition is the result of close and responsible coordination between the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Tinh, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hanoi, the Ha Tinh Museum and the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam. The exhibition is also an opportunity for the public to access the system of documents and artifacts on Confucianism and the tradition of mandarin examinations in Ha Tinh, thereby arousing pride and responsibility to continue the value of learning in the community, especially the young generation,” said Mr. Tran Xuan Luong.

At the exhibition, images of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, the temple of knowledge built in the 11th century, the first university of Vietnam and a typical educational center of the monarchy were introduced with a detailed system of documents.

The exhibition space recreates the journey of more than seven centuries of training talented people, along with the outstanding marks of famous people such as King Ly Thanh Tong, King Ly Nhan Tong, King Le Thanh Tong and Rector of the Imperial Academy Chu Van An.

The exhibition emphasizes the role of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam as a symbol of Vietnamese education, where 82 Doctorate steles with the names of 1,304 famous scholars from many dynasties are kept.

The second exhibition focuses on the tradition of education and examinations in Ha Tinh, a land of "spiritual people" with 148 Doctors, more than 600 Bachelors and about 100 Students in the period 1075 - 1919.

The exhibition also introduces the ancient school system in Ha Tinh, from the royal court's public schools to the private schools of famous scholars. Many typical families of scholars are recreated such as Nguyen Tien Dien, Nguyen Huy Truong Luu, Phan Huy, along with Confucian relics such as Ha Tinh Temple of Literature, Tien Dien Temple of Literature, Ky Anh Temple of Literature and Lai Thach Commune's Temple of Literature.

The exhibition also reviews the contributions of talented people of Ha Tinh who have made famous the tradition of studiousness and service to the country through many periods such as: Nguyen Du, Nguyen Thiep, Nguyen Huy Oanh, Phan Huy Ich, Phan Dinh Phung.

Ms. Nguyen Lien Huong - Deputy Director of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam said that the exhibition aims to create opportunities for the public, especially the young generation, to gain deeper access to the value of the heritage of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam and the tradition of studiousness of Ha Tinh.

The exhibition space is designed in a lively way, helping viewers easily access historical documents, thereby arousing pride and awareness of preserving national cultural identity.
