The Food Safety Department has issued Official Dispatch No. 944/ATTP-PCTTR to competent authorities and provinces and cities across the country regarding the monitoring and recall of these two products.
According to information from the Department, the product Dang Xuan Phuc Linh Gold not only contains the banned substance sibutramine but also does not fully declare it as required.
The Registration Certificate number printed on the packaging of this product is also incorrect, meaning that this product is not yet allowed to circulate on the market and does not meet food safety requirements.
Regarding the product Best Slim Collagen, although Hoa Anh Dao Medical Equipment Co., Ltd. has registered for declaration and been granted a Certificate of Acceptance of Product Declaration since 2019, according to the company's report, the batch of Best Slim Collagen product with batch code #29L367-01/2027 was not imported. This is a sign of violation of regulations on imported products and circulation on the market.
Immediately after discovering these violations, the Food Safety Department posted a warning on its official website about the discovery of two products Dang Xuan Phuc Linh Gold and Best Slim Collagen containing sibutramine.
This substance is not only a prohibited ingredient in health food but also dangerous to consumers if used for a long time. These products not only violate food safety regulations but also pose many potential risks to the health of users.
To ensure people's health, the Food Safety Department has requested relevant agencies to promptly take measures to handle these violating products. On May 2, 2025, the Department issued Official Dispatch No. 947/ATTP-PCTTR requesting that competent agencies coordinate to strengthen the management and handling of products that do not meet quality standards.
Today, May 3, the Department of Food Safety continued to issue a document requesting the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) to remove advertisements for the products Dang Xuan Phuc Linh Gold and Best Slim Collagen on e-commerce trading floors and e-commerce applications; at the same time, strengthen inspection and supervision of e-commerce trading floors, not allowing fake products of unknown origin to continue to be sold on these platforms.
In addition, the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) also requested the removal of violating advertisements on websites and social networking platforms such as Facebook and YouTube.
The Department of Domestic Market Management and Development (Ministry of Industry and Trade) is required to strengthen inspection and supervision of the circulation of violating products and promptly handle acts of trading in smuggled goods, counterfeit products, banned goods, as well as products of unknown origin.
The results of handling violations will be reported back to the Food Safety Department for synthesis and monitoring.
Previously, the Food Safety Department also discovered false advertising of the Crilin Women Health product on a number of websites, e-commerce platforms and social networks.
This product is advertised as having medicinal effects, misleading consumers. Although this product has been granted a Certificate of Registration of Declaration by Thien Duoc Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, the product's advertisements violate regulations on advertising content.
The Food Safety Department has coordinated with relevant authorities to verify and handle the above advertising links, and at the same time recommends that people should not base their decisions on these advertisements to buy products, because they can potentially affect their health and economy.
To protect their health and finances, consumers need to carefully research product information before buying and not believe in exaggerated advertisements, especially products that promise to "cure all diseases" or "immediate results".
These advertisements often have no clear scientific basis and can lead consumers to believe in "miraculous" promises that do not achieve the expected results.
The Food Safety Department has also warned people about potential risks of health food products and should not believe in advertisements that have no scientific basis.
These advertisements not only violate the law but also mislead consumers, leading them to buy products of unknown origin, ineffectiveness, and possibly harmful to health.
Regarding the issue of quality management of functional food products and health protection foods, the Prime Minister has just issued a document directing ministries, branches and localities to deploy measures to inspect and strictly handle violations related to the production and trade of fake medicines, fake milk and fake health protection foods.
In particular, authorities will continue to inspect e-commerce trading floors and social networking platforms to prevent false advertising and products of unknown origin.
To protect public health, consumers need to be alert and proactive in finding out product information before deciding to buy.
Authorities, especially the Food Safety Department, will continue to implement monitoring and propaganda measures to protect public health. Consumers need to be vigilant and not be drawn into baseless advertisements to avoid unwanted health and financial consequences.
The discovery of health food products that violate food safety regulations is a serious warning to consumers. People need to be vigilant and proactive in finding information about the products to protect their health and stay away from products of unknown origin or that show signs of violating food safety regulations.
