Knocking on the door at the beginning of summer - Let's explore cultural heritage.

To celebrate International Children's Day on May 30-31, the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology is organizing the program "Knocking on the Door at the Beginning of Summer - Exploring Cultural Heritage Together" with many experiential, creative, and fun activities for children and their families.

The program aims to create a fun and enriching environment, helping children access and explore traditional cultural values ​​through vivid and engaging experiences.

Activities are organized in various spaces within the Museum, ranging from fun and creative art to experiencing folk games and traditional crafts. Through these activities, children not only gain knowledge about national culture but also have the opportunity to hone their skills, develop their creativity, and strengthen family bonds.

At the Children's Discovery Room and the Multimedia Room in the Kite Building, children can participate in many experiential activities such as learning about the national flags of different countries, exploring familiar grains in daily life, practicing puppetry, printing Dong Ho folk paintings, or coloring traditional costumes of Southeast Asian countries.

In addition, the system of documentaries, traditional music , and content introducing cultural heritage brings young audiences to vivid stories about the life, customs, and folk art of many different communities.

At the Korean Room in the Kite Building, children had the opportunity to try on traditional Hanbok costumes and learn about the unique aspects of Korean culture. A water puppet show by the Dong Ngu puppet troupe from Bac Ninh province took place in the Water Pavilion area...

In addition, there are familiar folk games such as O An Quan (a board game), Chuyen (a ball-passing game), jump rope, tug-of-war, stilt walking, and flag capturing. Including these folk games in the program aims to contribute to the preservation and dissemination of traditional cultural values ​​in a context where children today have many opportunities to access modern forms of entertainment.

These firsthand experiences help children better understand the cultural life of previous generations, thereby fostering an awareness of preserving and promoting national cultural values.

Along with activities for exploration, creativity, and fun, the program also provides opportunities for family members to participate together. This is a chance for parents and children to bond, learn about each other's cultures, and create meaningful memories during the early days of summer.
