Gong Cha began its "24-hour campaign" by opening its newest stores in New Zealand, followed by Australia, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines, Canada, and Mexico, and finally in Boston, USA. Interestingly, while bubble tea originated in Taiwan, the US has the largest number of stores, with over 200 locations.
Over the past two years, Gong Cha has opened more than 450 new stores, while sales increased by 6.2% in 2022. The global bubble tea market is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.5% by 2027, reaching a value of £3.5 billion. By the end of 2030, the group aims to expand to over 10,000 stores. In Vietnam, Gong Cha is exclusively franchised and operated by Golden Trust Co., Ltd., a company with extensive experience in the F&B industry, having operated other brands besides Gong Cha such as Uncle Tetsu, PIKO Coffee, and Shinsho Ramen. As of July 2023, Gong Cha Vietnam had 39 stores nationwide. According to the latest ranking from Brands Vietnam, Gong Cha was the most mentioned brand on social media in June 2023. This company has also made significant contributions to the community through social projects.
