Hanoi allows the use of Me Tri place name as a specialty brand

Hanoi allows Me Tri ward to register for protection of the certification trademark 'Com Me Tri' - a famous specialty associated with the capital's culinary culture.

Accordingly, the place name "Me Tri" will be used as a certification mark for the products of green rice flakes, green rice cakes, and green rice sticky rice - traditional dishes that have created a distinctive brand of the Me Tri area (Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi ). The registration dossier will be accompanied by a map of the corresponding geographical area that has been confirmed by the District People's Committee.

The People's Committee of Me Tri Ward is assigned the responsibility of developing documents, management tools and organizing the implementation of the use of certification marks in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Intellectual Property. The management and exploitation of the marks must be ensured for the common benefit of the community of producers and traders of "Com Me Tri" products.

In case the place name "Me Tri" is misused, the certification trademark is transferred in violation of regulations or the product is transferred to registration for protection under the form of geographical indication, the Hanoi People's Committee has the right to revoke the decision allowing the use of the above place name.
