Hanoi has the University of Procuracy and the University of Industry and Commerce in Hanoi.

Hanoi University of Procuracy was renamed Hanoi University of Procuracy. Hanoi University of Textile and Garment Industry was renamed Hanoi University of Industry and Commerce.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long has signed decisions on renaming two universities in Hanoi city.

Specifically, Hanoi University of Procuracy was renamed Hanoi University of Procuracy. Hanoi University of Textile Industry was renamed Hanoi University of Industry and Commerce.

The Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Education and Training , the Hanoi People's Committee and relevant agencies, according to their functions, tasks and authority, to guide and supervise the renaming process to ensure transparency and prevent negativity, loss and waste of finance and assets.

At the same time, the name change does not affect the normal and continuous operation of the school; ensures the legitimate rights and interests of students, lecturers, managers, employees and related organizations and individuals according to the provisions of law.

The Procuracy University, originally the School of Continuing Education and Training for Procuracy Cadres, was established in 1970. The school has undergone several name changes: Hanoi Procuracy College (1981-2005); Procuracy Training and Development School (2005-2013); Hanoi Procuracy University (from 2013 to present).

Before being renamed Hanoi University of Industry and Commerce, Hanoi University of Industry was an application-oriented public university, formerly the Garment Technical Training School, established in 1967.

After many name changes and upgrades, in 2015 the school was upgraded to Hanoi University of Textile Industry.
