Although it continued to rain in Nghe An , by 10pm last night (July 25), National Highway 7 - the vital traffic route connecting the lowlands of Nghe An to Tuong Duong, Muong Xen and Nam Can border gate, was reopened after many days of being cut off by floods.
Previously, widespread heavy rain combined with record-high Lam River floods caused hundreds of landslides and deep flooding along Highway 7, severely isolating mountainous and border communes. Traffic was paralyzed and relief supplies were inaccessible.

Nghe An Department of Construction urgently mobilized 8 large-capacity wheel loaders, 10 bucket excavators, and dozens of workers and engineers to clear mud, level, and open roads at flooded areas when the water had just receded.
The timely opening of the route not only ensures traffic safety, but also creates conditions for convoys transporting food, provisions, and necessities to reach the flood center, helping people quickly stabilize their lives after the natural disaster.
