According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism , this year's highlight is the expansion of tourism to suburban areas such as Ba Vi, Soc Son, Huong Son, and Son Tay. The products will be developed in the direction of ecotourism, resort tourism, community tourism, and agricultural tourism , linked with experiencing local culture.
Some new tourism products have initially created a positive effect, such as "The Beauty of the Wallflower" (Phuc Tho), "The Path of Learning" (O Dien), or community-based tourism in the Mien ethnic minority villages (Ba Vi), contributing to regulating the number of tourists and limiting overcrowding in the central area.
In parallel, more than 20 cultural activities, exhibitions, and art performances were organized throughout the area. Highlights included traditional craft experiences and heritage spaces in the Old Quarter; exhibitions such as "Vietnamese Lacquerware: A Historical Tale," "The Flow of Vietnamese Lacquer – From Heritage to Contemporary," and "From Do Wood"; and the "New Weavings of Ancient Colors" event at the Hanoi Museum.
At the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village, the "Lai Chau Colors" highland market will recreate the unique cultural space of ethnic minorities.
In the entertainment segment, the "Pony Land - A Journey into Fairytale" festival at Bao Son Paradise Park and the "Summer Cruise 2026" program at Ho Tay Water Park contribute to diversifying experiences, especially for families and young people.
On April 30th and May 1st, the Department of Tourism, in coordination with the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, provided drinking water, milk, and bread to serve people and tourists visiting the Mausoleum to pay their respects to President Ho Chi Minh.
In the travel sector, Hanoi's tourism industry is oriented towards diversifying transportation methods, gradually reducing dependence on air travel, and developing high-quality road and rail products. From 2025, Hanoi has strengthened tour connections with neighboring localities using high-quality buses and tourist trains such as the double-decker train "Nam Cua O – The Hanoi Train," contributing to enhancing the travel experience.
At the same time, the Department encourages travel businesses to restructure their products in a flexible manner, improve service quality, and ensure transparency in refund and cancellation policies.
