Hanoi innovates workplace safety management in the digital age.

The 2026 Occupational Safety and Health Action Month in Hanoi will take place from May 1st to 31st with many practical activities, strongly focused on grassroots levels, businesses, and workers.

This year's theme emphasizes the need for innovation in management and improved safety performance in the context of digital transformation.

On March 4th, the Hanoi City Federation of Labor (Hanoi FL) announced that it had issued guidelines for organizing the 2026 Occupational Safety and Health Action Month among all levels of trade unions in the capital city.

This year's Action Month, themed "Innovating management and improving the effectiveness of occupational safety and health in the digital age," will take place from May 1st to May 31st, 2026, throughout the city.

The activities are required to be practical and effective, linked to the 2026 Workers' Month and major events such as the 140th anniversary of International Workers' Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2026) and the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026).

The city-level launch ceremony is scheduled to be held at the end of April at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace, with the participation of approximately 1,000 delegates, marking the beginning of a series of activities in response throughout the city. Trade unions in communes, wards, industrial zones, high-tech zones, corporations, and affiliated units will proactively develop plans tailored to the specific conditions of each locality and enterprise.

During the peak month, trade unions at all levels in Hanoi will intensify the dissemination of knowledge on occupational safety and health through various forms: distributing documents, leaflets, and handbooks; disseminating information through newspapers, local radio systems, websites, social networks, and trade union Zalo groups. The application of digital technology is identified as a crucial solution to widely spread the message "Safety for production – Production must be safe."

The "Green, Clean, and Beautiful, Ensuring Occupational Safety and Health" emulation movement continues to be promoted. Union members and workers are encouraged to develop initiatives, improve technical skills, enhance working conditions, and prevent occupational accidents and diseases at the grassroots level. Outstanding collectives and individuals will be promptly recognized and rewarded.

The network of occupational safety and health officers at the facility continues to be strengthened and its operational quality improved. Training courses on risk identification and safe working skills will be organized for union officials, occupational safety and health officers, and workers.

Simultaneously, trade unions at all levels are strengthening coordination with relevant agencies to inspect and monitor the implementation of occupational safety and health regulations in enterprises, especially in high-risk sectors such as construction, electricity, mechanics, and working in confined spaces; focusing on equipment inspection, safety training, and regular health check-ups for workers.

Through this Action Month, the Hanoi City Federation of Labor Unions hopes to create a clear shift in awareness and actions, gradually building a culture of workplace safety in enterprises, for the sustainable development of the Capital city.
