Hanoi awards 184 outstanding students at the national level.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training organized a ceremony to commend and reward 184 students who achieved outstanding results in the national excellent student selection exam for the 2023-2024 school year.

The Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training and the Director of the Quality Management Department, Huynh Van Chuong, presented awards to the first-prize winning students.

On the afternoon of February 5th, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training held a conference to commend and reward collectives and individuals who achieved outstanding results in the national excellent student selection exam for the 2023-2024 school year.

In the 2023-2024 National Excellent Student Selection Exam, Hanoi had 234 students from 10 high schools participating, an increase of 50 students compared to the previous year. The students registered to participate in all 12 subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Literature, History, Geography, English, Russian, French, and Chinese.

Twelve teams from Hanoi participated in the competition with outstanding performance and achieved impressive results, with 184 students winning awards, including 14 first prizes, 61 second prizes, 54 third prizes, and 55 consolation prizes, an increase of 43 awards compared to the previous school year.

This is the highest result ever achieved by students in the city; for the 12th consecutive year, Hanoi continues to lead the country in the results of the national excellent student selection exam. Several teams had 100% of their members winning awards, such as English, Chemistry, and French. In particular, the English team won 6 first prizes, the Chemistry team won 12 first prizes, and the French team won 1 first prize...

Notably, among this year's award-winning students are some from schools in disadvantaged areas, such as Minh Quang High School (Ba Vi district), Phung Khac Khoan High School - Thach That (Thach That district)...

Acknowledging and commending the students' achievements, the Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, Tran The Cuong, affirmed that the fact that students from public high schools in the city, despite facing many difficulties and having low entrance exam scores, won prizes in the exam demonstrates that the city's focus on advanced education is widespread and that schools are paying attention to it.

At the conference, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training awarded certificates of merit and prizes to 23 collectives and 188 individuals who achieved outstanding results in the national high school student excellence competition for the 2023-2024 school year. Among these 188 individuals, 4 are management staff of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, and the remaining 184 are students.
