Candidates participating in the entrance examination for 10th grade in public high schools for the 2025-2026 school year will take three exams: Mathematics, Literature, and Foreign Language. For the Foreign Language exam, candidates can register to take one of the following languages: English, French, German, Japanese, or Korean. Candidates may register to take an exam in a foreign language different from the foreign language they studied at their junior high school.
The Foreign Language test in the exam is in the form of multiple-choice questions with a time limit of 60 minutes. Candidates will answer the questions on a multiple-choice answer sheet, and their answers will be graded using computer software. There will be multiple test versions in each examination room, ensuring that no two adjacent candidates have the same test version.
According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the exam questions are consistent with the learning objectives of the subject and the goals of the lower secondary level under the 2018 General Education Program, mainly focusing on the 9th grade curriculum.
