The program is organized during three peak periods: the April 30th - May 1st holiday, the anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19th), and National Day (September 2nd).
According to the plan, a total of approximately 110,000 gift packages will be prepared. Of these, about 45,000 are expected for the April 30th and May 1st holidays; about 20,000 for May 19th; and about 45,000 for September 2nd. Each package includes a drink or milk with bread, distributed appropriately according to the number of guests at each time, ensuring sufficient service and avoiding shortages or waste.
According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism , during major holidays, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum area welcomes tens of thousands of Vietnamese people and domestic and international tourists who come to pay their respects to President Ho Chi Minh. Small bottles of water, cartons of milk, or simple loaves of bread, seemingly as practical support, become symbols of sharing and the heartfelt generosity of the people of Hanoi.
To ensure the program's effectiveness, the Hanoi Department of Tourism clearly assigned responsibilities to its subordinate units in the preparation and implementation. The Office of the Command of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum played a crucial role in arranging the location, receiving, and organizing the distribution of gifts. Close coordination ensured that the gifts were distributed at the right time and to the right recipients, while also guaranteeing safety, order, and maintaining the solemn atmosphere of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
The program providing drinking water, milk, and bread therefore not only has material value but also demonstrates the spirit of hospitality and respect that the capital city has for every citizen and visitor coming to visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, actively contributing to building the image of Hanoi as "Safe - Friendly - Quality - Attractive".
According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in April 2026, the total number of visitors to Hanoi is estimated to reach 3.09 million , an increase of 13.3% compared to the same period last year; total revenue from tourism is expected to reach approximately 12.65 trillion VND.
In the first four months of the year, Hanoi welcomed approximately 12.14 million visitors, an increase of 20.9%, including 3.29 million international visitors.
