
In particular, the Ly Son Special Economic Zone is identified as the future center for connecting island and coastal tourism in the province and the Central region. According to the Ly Son Special Economic Zone Development Plan until 2030, with a vision to 2045, Ly Son will be prioritized for investment in the comprehensive development of transportation, tourism, and service infrastructure to gradually expand its international connectivity.
By 2030, Ly Son will focus on completing its internal transportation system, improving the efficiency of Ben Dinh Port and Ly Son Port, and opening a sea transport route connecting Ben Dinh and Cu Lao Cham to enhance regional tourism linkages.
After 2030, the Ly Son Special Economic Zone is planned to receive investment in large-scale infrastructure projects such as an international passenger port, Ly Son Airport, and the opening of new sea routes connecting Ly Son and An Binh ports with Dung Quat and Ky Ha ports. The plan also studies a system of electric trains around the island and a cable car connecting the main island and the smaller island to serve long-term tourism development.
