HAGL entered V-League Round 19 under considerable pressure after a four-match winless streak, partly due to facing strong opponents at the top of the league table. In reality, the team from Pleiku played quite well in these matches, even taking the lead against Hanoi Police FC and Ninh Binh FC, forcing these giants to fight hard until the end of the game to secure three points.
Against Ho Chi Minh City Police FC, Coach Le Quang Trai's players also created many difficulties for Coach Le Huynh Duc's team. With a bit of luck, HAGL could have secured all three points against Da Nang FC, until Van Son's brilliant long-range shot scored... Importantly, even after Technical Director Vu Tien Thanh moved to coach Ninh Binh FC, the HAGL coaching staff still showed the team's progress despite the defeats.
After Round 18 of the V-League, there have been changes at both ends of the standings.

In round 19, HAGL traveled to Thien Truong Stadium and had a fierce 90-minute match with heated moments that spilled over onto the pitch. But the key was that they secured all three points, creating a safe distance from the two teams at the bottom of the table (leading PVF-CAND and Da Nang FC by 5 and 6 points respectively). Coach Le Quang Trai expressed: "This victory is very significant, helping HAGL build even greater confidence and further mature our young players. As everyone knows, this season HAGL completely bids farewell to the star players from the first graduating class of the HAGL JMG Academy. We now have one of the youngest teams in the V-League, with the majority of the squad born in 2000 or later. It takes time for players to absorb and develop the requirements set by the coaching staff. Fortunately, through each match, they gradually understand their roles and how the team operates. From training sessions, they have followed instructions and are aware of their specific roles on the field. As a result, each player is more confident and progresses step by step, helping to improve performance towards the set goals."
The most noticeable change for HAGL is that, from being dependent on star players a few years ago, they are now a truly cohesive team. In the team from the mountain town, forwards like Batista, Minh Tam, Gia Bao… are willing to throw themselves into defense, while center-backs like Quang Kiet are ready to surge forward and add their names to the scoresheet whenever they have the chance.
Coach Le Quang Trai shared: "Compared to the beginning of the season, some players are showing clear progress, such as Trung Kien and Quang Kiet; or at a certain level, like Minh Tam and Gia Bao. We have always and will continue to push them, setting higher demands and creating pressure to motivate them to improve themselves. The important thing is that the young players are building increasing confidence, and their attitude and training meet the coaching staff's requirements. Simultaneously, foreign players like Jairo, Marciel, and Batista are performing more effectively, providing a bright spot for the whole team to trust and operate. There are 7 rounds left in the season, and the final rounds will be unpredictable, but HAGL isn't overly concerned because we understand we can't afford to think long-term; we must focus on each match."
