Free swimming lessons for children in Hanoi.

The program aims to provide children with access to a safe swimming environment, equipping them with basic swimming skills and the ability to handle situations when faced with the risk of drowning.

On the morning of May 31st, at the Khăn Quàng Đỏ swimming pool (Ngọc Hà Ward, Hanoi ), the Central Youth Union Council, in coordination with the Vietnam Youth Support Center, organized the opening ceremony of the free swimming class "Learning to Swim with Children in 2026" for children in Hanoi.

The program was launched in response to the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign and the Month of Action for Children in 2026, contributing to equipping children with skills to prevent and combat drowning during the summer.

Attending the program were Mr. Le Hai Long, Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Youth Union, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Central Children's Council; Mr. Nguyen Thien Tu, Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of the Vietnam Youth Support Center, along with representatives from various units, coaches, parents, and a large number of children.

Mr. Le Hai Long and Mr. Nguyen Thien Tu presented gifts to the children.

Contributing to reducing drowning accidents.

According to the organizers, the class was implemented in the context of increasing attention from all levels and sectors to accident and injury prevention, especially the prevention of drowning among children. The program aims to provide children with access to a safe swimming environment, equipping them with basic swimming skills and the ability to handle situations when facing the risk of drowning.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Nguyen Thien Tu emphasized the practical significance of popularizing swimming skills for children, especially during the summer holidays when their need for water activities increases.

Through the free swimming lessons "Learn to Swim with Me in 2026," the organizers hope to provide many children with more opportunities to learn and practice life skills, raise awareness of preventing drowning accidents, and contribute to giving them a safe, healthy, and enriching summer.

A valuable opportunity for children to get access to a beneficial sport .

Speaking on behalf of the students participating in the class, Dao Gia Khang, a student in class 3A7 of Hoang Hoa Tham Primary School, expressed his joy at being able to participate in the free swimming course.

She mentioned that many underprivileged children, including herself, have not had the opportunity to learn to swim properly. Therefore, the program is a valuable opportunity for them to access this beneficial sport and learn self-protection skills.

"We promise to attend all classes, strictly abide by the rules, and practice diligently so that after the course we can swim proficiently and know how to prevent drowning for ourselves and share our knowledge with those around us," Gia Khang shared.

On this occasion, the Central Youth Union Council and the Vietnam Youth Support Center presented 30 gifts to the students participating in the course to encourage their learning and training spirit.
