The meeting was chaired by Ms. Trinh Thi Hong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairwoman of the People's Council of the commune, and Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the People's Council of the commune.
Attending the dialogue were delegates of the XIV term of the Commune People's Council; representatives of departments, agencies, and organizations; and 35 outstanding students from 7 schools in the area.
In an open and constructive spirit, the children submitted 14 opinions and suggestions to the delegates regarding several issues such as: the problem of street vendors in front of schools, which both detracts from the aesthetics and poses a potential risk to food safety and hygiene; the negative aspects of the information explosion and social media with its harmful and toxic content affecting students' psychology and character; the continued occurrence of students skipping school to play on the internet; and the shortage of school health staff...
The students also expressed their desire for the commune to organize free swimming lessons during the summer; implement a program to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds in the next school year; organize playgrounds and life skills education for students, especially on safe use of social media…
The opinions and suggestions of the students were thoroughly addressed by the commune's People's Council representatives right at the meeting.
On this occasion, the People's Council of the commune presented 7 bicycles to students from disadvantaged backgrounds and 35 gifts to students participating in the dialogue session.
