Tran Gia Bao became the youngest player to compete in the V-League and also set a record for the youngest player to score in this competition. At the age of 16, Gia Bao was only a reserve option for the senior players of Hoang Anh Gia Lai 's first team, but he was very confident and mature when given the opportunity to play by the coaching staff.

HAGL's squad this season has been strengthened by many young players, such as Gia Bao, Ly Duc, and Trung Kien. In the second round, coach Le Quang Trai's team will face SLNA, a team with a similar young squad, undergoing a transformation under coach Pham Anh Tuan. This match is considered a battle of Vietnamese football's rising stars, as most of the participating players are members of the national youth teams.
HAGL just secured a resounding 4-0 victory away at Quang Nam, building momentum for their upcoming match against the Nghe An team in Round 2. With an excellent start and home advantage, coach Quang Trai's team will undoubtedly aim for three points to consolidate their position at the top of the league table.
Meanwhile, SLNA will only have two foreign players in the second round after 25-year-old Paraguayan defender Sebastián Zaracho received a red card in the opening match of the tournament. With their squad significantly weakened, the Nghe An team will have to opt for a defensive counter-attacking style of play and aim to secure points when they travel to Gia Lai.
Also in Round 2 of the V-League 2024-2025, taking place on September 21st, B.Binh Duong will host Hai Phong at 6 PM (FPT Play) at Go Dau Stadium. Coach Hoang Anh Tuan's team had a smooth start thanks to their comeback victory against Thanh Hoa in Round 1, however, they still revealed many weaknesses in their defense.
Nguyen Tien Linh was a bright spot in Binh Duong's ball-controlling, proactive attacking style after scoring a brace, but the team's coordination and tactical execution were still not smooth, relying heavily on long passes from the defense.
Hai Phong also earned their first point in this season's V-League after a dramatic draw against Hanoi Police at their home stadium, Lach Tray. Although not as highly rated as in previous seasons, coach Chu Dinh Nghiem's team remains a formidable opponent in the domestic league, capable of hindering the V-League title aspirations of "big teams" like Binh Duong.
