Pull ups and chest presses can be done comfortably at home during the gloomy winter weather to help reduce back fat.
The days are shorter and supermarkets are brimming with festive treats, so fall and winter are challenging times to start losing weight.
Fitness expert Petra Genco recommends two simple exercises that can help reduce back fat. The moves in these two exercises can be done in the comfort of your home or anywhere. You don’t have to leave the house in gloomy weather or when it’s pitch black outside.
All you need is a resistance band.
Hand pull
Stand up straight with your legs apart and hold the resistance band in both hands. Raise both arms out in front of you and extend them, pulling the resistance band.
Then, bring your arms forward and do 3 sets of 15 pulls each time.
Chest press
Place the resistance band under your feet, holding the band tightly with both hands.
Lean your upper body toward the ground and pull the resistance band up with both hands, keeping your arms close to your body.
Then, return your arms to the starting position and do 3 sets of 15 reps each.
While Genco touts these back fat-burning exercises, Tina—a fitness expert with over 350,000 followers on TikTok—says that no exercise will help you lose fat in any one area of your body. Instead, you need to create a calorie deficit. That's when your body burns more calories than it consumes. This can be achieved by moving more, eating less, or a combination of both.
