Hai Phong: Deploying digital infrastructure development plan for the period 2024-2025

On the afternoon of June 11, the Department of Information and Communications of Hai Phong chaired a conference to deploy the plan to develop digital infrastructure in the city for the period 2024-2025.

Previously, on April 26, 2024, the People's Committee of Hai Phong City issued Plan No. 114/KH-UBND on Digital Infrastructure Development in the city for the period 2024-2025, in which it was determined that digital infrastructure development would create momentum for rapid development of industries and fields, serving the construction of digital government, developing digital economy , digital society, and promoting the city's comprehensive digital transformation program.

According to the plan, the city sets targets for telecommunications infrastructure to continue improving the quality of the 4G network, gradually deploying the 5G network, and popularizing broadband internet throughout the city with 100% of villages and residential groups covered by 3G, 4G mobile broadband technology and 50% of villages and residential groups covered by 5G mobile broadband technology. The city will establish 300 new 5G broadcasting stations.

Regarding the use of telecommunications services, 100% of mobile subscribers use smartphones; 95% of people use the internet, households have access to fiber optic broadband internet. Data center infrastructure and cloud computing are widely used and applied to serve the activities of state agencies, businesses and people . Based on the city's plan, at today's conference, representatives of localities and businesses in the city shared information about the advantages and difficulties in implementing the targets and tasks of developing digital infrastructure. Thereby, agencies and units agreed on plans to implement tasks and solutions for developing digital infrastructure to ensure efficiency, substance, and compliance with the set goals and directions.
