Dozens of workers hospitalized after lunch in Nghe An

On the afternoon of December 6, Mr. Pham Ngoc Quy - Head of the Nghe An Food Safety and Hygiene Department said that he is coordinating with the authorities to take food samples for testing to clarify the cause that caused dozens of workers at a company in the WHA industrial park (located in Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province) to be hospitalized after lunch.

Workers suspected of poisoning must be hospitalized for treatment and health monitoring.

According to initial information, after lunch on December 6, dozens of workers at Premium Fashion Company (garment company) in WHA Industrial Park (Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province) experienced symptoms of headache, nausea, hot flashes, some cases had chest tightness, burning, redness, rash on the face, neck, arms and fatigue.

From 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. the same day, Nghi Loc District General Hospital received 42 cases of suspected poisoning at this company.

The leader of Nghi Loc District General Hospital said that currently, some patients with severe symptoms have been hospitalized for treatment, the rest are continuing to be monitored.

Ms. Tran Thi Anh Tuyet - Vice Chairman of Nghi Loc District People's Committee said: After receiving the information, the district directed the hospital to mobilize maximum human resources and equipment to treat and care for the patients; specialized departments quickly arrived, along with competent authorities to treat the patients and investigate the cause of the incident.
