If you own a Samsung Galaxy A, Galaxy M series smartphone, or Lite series tablet, check your settings immediately. Samsung has just delivered a big surprise by simultaneously releasing the stable version of One UI 8.5 update for its most accessible mid-range devices.

One UI 8.5 arrives on everything from tablets to mid-range smartphones.

The focus of this software update campaign is the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite tablet. After a few days of limited release in its home country of South Korea, Samsung has officially expanded the One UI 8.5 update globally, including Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the United States. The device, set to launch in mid-2025, is undergoing a complete overhaul to prepare for the leap to Android 17 later this year.

Following the tablets, the One UI 8.5 wave based on Android 16 (and Android 16 QPR2) has also officially landed on the company's most popular mid-range smartphones, including:

  • The best-selling Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 duo : Officially receiving a large-scale upgrade in India and across Europe.
  • Former A-series kings (Galaxy A54, A34, and A25) : All have received the official stable update in South Korea (with local names like Galaxy Quantum 4). OTA update files are being optimized for global rollout in the next few days.
  • Galaxy M36 : Officially receives a massive 3GB update package, along with the latest May 2026 security patch.

Currently, Samsung's rollout speed is quite fast. Users don't need to follow complicated steps; they just need to go to Settings > Software update > select Download and install.

Since the update sizes range from under 400 MB (for users running the Beta version) to as much as 3 GB (for users upgrading from One UI 8.0), please ensure your device is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network and has over 50% battery life for the safest upgrade process.
