Hundreds of people clean Phu Quoc beaches every day.

The annual monsoon season brings large quantities of water hyacinth, seaweed, and debris from the sea onto the beaches of Phu Quoc (An Giang province). At Kem Beach, hundreds of Sun Group staff and resort personnel continuously work from dawn until late at night, striving to clean the beach, preserve the landscape, and enhance the experience for tourists in the early days of 2026.

In early 2026, Phu Quoc entered the northeast monsoon season, with ocean currents carrying large amounts of dry trees, seaweed, water hyacinth, and marine debris washing ashore. Bai Kem and many other beautiful beaches on the island are facing a massive amount of trash. This is a phenomenon of "seasonal trash" that Phu Quoc Island has to deal with every year.

In response to this situation, hundreds of Sun Group employees in Phu Quoc, along with staff from the high-end resort system at Bai Kem beach, simultaneously launched a campaign to intensify beach cleaning efforts to ensure the landscape, environment, and visitor experience.

Collecting washed-up trash ensures the cleanliness and beauty of Kem Beach.

According to representatives from the relevant units, garbage and seaweed collection is carried out continuously from 4 AM to 11 PM every day. Specifically at Kem Beach, the number of green space and environmental sanitation personnel has been increased, maintaining an average of 90-110 people per day to handle garbage washed ashore. Impressed by the cleanup efforts of the landscape maintenance team, many international tourists joined in cleaning the beach.

Not just a short-term response, beach cleaning has been identified as a regular task throughout the monsoon season. Earlier, on the afternoon of January 1st, staff from various units promptly collected and processed nearly 2 tons of waste, contributing to restoring the natural beauty of the beach.

International tourists enthusiastically participated in the beach cleanup campaign.

Alongside the efforts of specialized units, Sun Group in Phu Quoc also launched the "Beach Cleanup 2026" program, calling for the participation of a large number of staff and employees working on the island. The activity is organized regularly in the early morning and late afternoon, when tides and monsoon winds have the strongest impact.

Sun Group staff and employees on Phu Quoc Island joined forces to clean up the beach from early morning.

Garbage collection takes place daily.

A representative from Sun Group stated that proactively and persistently cleaning the beaches not only aims to preserve the image of Phu Quoc as a green, clean, and beautiful destination in the eyes of tourists, but also demonstrates the company's responsibility towards the environment and the local community.
