Empowering businesses

In 2025, despite facing the complex developments of the pandemic and natural disasters, the Department of Industry and Trade proactively implemented the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign, linking it with key political and economic tasks.

Recognizing that public relations is a key focus, the Department of Industry and Trade has coordinated the implementation of 24 newspaper articles and 12 local radio and television programs. These activities have significantly changed consumer thinking, shifting from "prioritizing" to "trusting" domestically produced goods with clear origins. The development of outstanding products has yielded important results, with 4 products recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade as outstanding national rural industrial products in 2025. In addition, over 150 trainees have received training in brand building skills and completing OCOP (One Commune One Product) dossiers, contributing to standardizing the legal process for local goods.

Bringing Vietnamese goods to remote and disadvantaged areas is receiving special attention. According to Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, Dao Anh Tuan, the two-way trade model with convenience stores in border communes has contributed to ensuring the supply of quality goods to the people. For example, in Huong Phung commune, units such as Bru Van Kieu Cooperative, Hiep Phat Agricultural and Commercial Cooperative, and Aralibe Company have received comprehensive support in terms of infrastructure, signage, and display shelves. The scientific arrangement makes it easy for people to access the distinctive products of the ethnic minority region, ensuring circulation standards and combating substandard goods.

Mr. Le Phuoc Hiep, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hiep Phat Agricultural and Commercial Cooperative, said: “Our unit focuses on producing coffee, reishi mushrooms, and many other agricultural products. Thanks to the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the cooperative has not only built a professional and eye-catching display space but also has the opportunity to widely promote regional specialties. Through this, we can bring authentic Vietnamese goods at stable prices directly to consumers, helping them to be completely assured of quality.”

Removing obstacles and promoting Vietnamese goods.

Modern distribution channels are also being emphasized through a project connecting specialty products to supermarkets. With 26 cooperation agreements signed between businesses and large systems such as Co.opmart Quang Tri, Vietnamese goods are increasingly affirming their reputation and establishing a sustainable supply chain.

To protect the achievements of the campaign, market inspections were strictly maintained. Authorities vigorously combated smuggling and counterfeit goods, especially food, cosmetics, and agricultural supplies. Notably, during the flood period, the Department of Industry and Trade promptly developed a stockpiling plan, preventing shortages and price spikes. Over 148 million VND worth of relief goods were delivered directly to the people in the flooded areas of Nam Hai Lang, Le Thuy, Ninh Chau, etc., making a significant contribution to ensuring social welfare during the severe natural disaster.

Despite achieving many positive results, the campaign still faces numerous difficulties. The majority of production facilities in Quang Tri are small-scale and have limited financial capacity, leading to delays in the implementation of support programs. The number of staff working on industrial promotion at the grassroots level is insufficient, and in some areas, their quality does not meet requirements. Furthermore, the rapid development of e-commerce on social media platforms is creating difficulties in managing and identifying warehouses and handling violations.

Implementing the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign, the province has focused on improving the internal capacity of production facilities. Through industrial promotion funds, in 2025, the Department of Industry and Trade provided over 5.8 billion VND in support to 39 rural industrial establishments to apply advanced machinery, design packaging, and build product showrooms.

Looking ahead to 2026, the provincial Department of Industry and Trade has determined to continue promoting the campaign in the new context with more practical and decisive solutions. “We will focus on supporting businesses in technological innovation and productivity improvement so that Vietnamese goods can assert their position through quality and competitive pricing. Besides prioritizing industrial promotion funds to help improve designs and build strong brands, the department will strengthen supply-demand connections, bringing goods to rural and mountainous areas through mobile sales and modern retail systems. In particular, market management will be tightened to strictly handle counterfeit and substandard goods; at the same time, we will strengthen supervision of e-commerce and multi-level marketing to protect legitimate businesses. In the immediate future, the department will implement intensive plans to combat smuggling and trade fraud, ensuring market stability during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026,” informed Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, Dao Anh Tuan.

The "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign in Quang Tri is increasingly becoming an important driving force for the development of local production. With the concerted efforts of the government, businesses, and people, Vietnamese goods will certainly continue to make breakthroughs and affirm their position in the market.
