Carrick's classy gesture in MU's final game of the season.

Manager Michael Carrick recently made an action that has been praised by many Manchester United fans, by giving Malacia the opportunity to play their last game in a Red Devils shirt before saying goodbye.

Goals from Dorgu, Mbeumo, and Bruno Fernandes gave MU a 3-0 lead over Brighton early in the second half. Therefore, Carrick took the opportunity to give young players Shea Lacey and Tyler Fletcher a chance to prove themselves.

The 45-year-old strategist also showed his noble character by bringing on left-back Tyrell Malacia in the 82nd minute, allowing him to play his last game in a Red Devils shirt.

Brought to Old Trafford by manager Ten Hag in the summer of 2022 for a fee of £13 million, Malacia suffered a serious knee injury in 2023, which sidelined him for a year and a half.

Malacia returned in December 2024 and was then loaned to PSV. Although he was on the transfer list last summer, he ultimately stayed and was relegated to the Manchester United U21 team.

Since Carrick took over, Malacia has started appearing on the substitutes list in several Premier League matches. The Dutch player's future is gradually coming to an end, as his contract with the Red Devils expires in June.
