A journey of over half a century of partnership between VNA and the 304th Infantry Division.

To commemorate the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2025), the 36th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2025), and the 65th anniversary of the fraternal relationship between the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and the 304th Infantry Division (April 14, 1960 - 2025), on December 20, in Phu Tho province, the Vietnam News Agency and the 304th Infantry Division organized an exchange activity to reminisce about the milestones and memorable moments in the more than half-century journey of the two agencies' companionship, sharing the fierce moments of the war for national independence and developing together during the period of national reconstruction.

Colonel Dinh Khac Hung, Member of the Party Committee of the Military Region, Commander of the 304th Infantry Division (Military Region 2), stated: 65 years is a long journey with countless changes, but the solidarity between the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and the 304th Infantry Division has always been preserved, cherished, and promoted. The tradition of close ties, "Loyalty - Integrity - Steadfastness," tested over time between VNA and the Division, is a shared pride of generations of officers and soldiers of the Division and VNA staff and reporters. This exemplary relationship continues to affirm the strength of coordination between the national news agency and the main military forces; it is a vivid testament to the tradition of "The army and the people are like fish and water"; and it is the foundation for the two agencies to continue to excellently fulfill their tasks in the new phase of national construction and defense.

Speaking at the program, Party Secretary and Director General of VNA, Vu Viet Trang, affirmed: Over the past 65 years, the exemplary and pure military-civilian relationship between VNA and the 304th Infantry Division has been a shared pride and an invaluable spiritual asset for generations of officers, soldiers, reporters, and editors of both agencies. This precious tradition of brotherhood will be continuously nurtured and developed by present and future generations.

According to VNA General Director Vu Viet Trang, in response to the new demands and tasks of the new era, the two agencies are making strong strides to build a streamlined, efficient, effective, and effective organizational structure. VNA and the 304th Infantry Division will continue to inherit and promote the tradition of close ties and unwavering loyalty; and implement activities in depth, closely aligned with the development situation of the two agencies.

On April 14, 1960, the signing ceremony of the fraternal agreement between the two agencies took place in a simple and unpretentious manner, reflecting the desire of the leaders of both agencies to bring the military and the people closer together. This fraternal bond has endured and grown deeper and stronger through each stage of the country's history.

Every achievement and accomplishment of the commanders, officers, and soldiers of the 304th Infantry Division, whether in wartime or peacetime, whether in carrying out missions or in production work, is recorded and widely disseminated by the journalists of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA), honoring the glorious tradition of the glorious 304th Infantry Division, the first main unit of our army present on battlefields from North to South, fulfilling international obligations and upholding the spirit of Uncle Ho's soldiers.

The stories of camaraderie, shared joys and sorrows, and the exchange of combat and operational experiences between soldiers of the 304th Infantry Division and war correspondents of the Vietnam News Agency on each front, contributing to the historic moment of April 30th… are unforgettable memories, a flame of traditional education for the younger generation about the spirit of military-civilian solidarity, loyalty, purity, and unwavering devotion.

The officers, reporters, editors, technicians, and staff of the news agency have always received the support and encouragement of the commanders, officers, and soldiers of the 304th Infantry Division, enabling them to excellently fulfill their information duties and carry out the mission of the national news agency. Regular exchanges and work collaborations between the leaders and youth of the two agencies over the years have enriched the golden book of tradition between VNA and the 304th Infantry Division.

During the program, the two agencies also organized sports exchanges such as football, table tennis, tug-of-war, and pickleball. On this occasion, the two agencies also coordinated the renovation of the Traditional House of the 304th Infantry Division and presented photos to the exhibition space showcasing the fraternal activities between the two agencies at the Division's Traditional House.
