After the voyage from April 17-23, working group No. 9 successfully concluded its visit to encourage the military and people of Truong Sa island district and DK1 platform on the southern continental shelf of the Fatherland.
The working delegation led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Bong, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of the Navy, included 194 delegates from corporations, general companies, banks, units in the central enterprise sector and delegates from the provinces of Gia Lai, Kon Tum , Quang Ninh, Hai Phong and a number of other agencies and units.

Before the ship departed, the delegation leaders and delegates offered incense and flowers at the Memorial Site for Heroes and Martyrs of Gac Ma Island at the Martyrs' Monument in Cam Hai Dong Commune, Cam Lam, Khanh Hoa ; visited Submarine Brigade 189, Brigade 162, Naval Region 4.
Traveling over 1,000 nautical miles, the delegation visited 7 islands including Da Thi, Sinh Ton, Co Lin, Nui Le, Toc Tan, Da Tay, Truong Sa and DK1/19 Que Duong platform; held the inauguration ceremony of Toc Tan C Island Multi-purpose Cultural House - a project sponsored by the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development, worth 38 billion VND.
At the islands and DK1 Platform, after visiting, inspecting, and listening to the commander's report on the results of performing tasks in 2023 and the first 4 months of 2024, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Bong praised the military, people, and forces on Truong Sa island district, Khanh Hoa province in recent years for being united, overcoming difficulties, and standing firm at the forefront to build the island district into a solid fortress in the East Sea, firmly protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
During the meetings, the Head of the working delegation directed and advised the military and civilians of Truong Sa and DK1 platform to focus on good training, master combat readiness plans, handle countermeasures correctly, absolutely not be passive and surprised in any situation; focus on building a regular routine, strictly maintaining discipline, maintaining internal solidarity, solidarity between the military and civilians, playing a good role as a support for fishermen to go offshore, stick to the sea, actively propagandize for fishermen to fish legally; arrange reasonable time to increase training, physical training, physical strength; actively research, read many books and newspapers to enrich knowledge and understanding in all aspects, especially life skills during the days in Truong Sa.
On this occasion, corporations, general companies, and banks in the central enterprise sector participated in supporting the "Greening Truong Sa" Program with a total amount of more than 2.7 billion VND; supporting 4 green vegetable gardens with an amount of 1 billion VND; cutting the ribbon to inaugurate the Multi-purpose Cultural House on Toc Tan C Island and handing over medical equipment to Truong Sa Island Medical Center worth 12.5 billion VND.

In particular, the delegation visited and presented practical gifts to the military and civilians of Truong Sa island district and DKI/19 platform, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of the military and civilians here with a total value of more than 700 million VND (6 freezers, 11 water purifiers, 100 rechargeable fans, 13 desktop computers, 5 laptops, 7 water pumps, 1 ton of yellow sticky rice, 120 liters of honey, melon seeds...).
In addition to practical and meaningful gifts, the delegates also participated in many cultural, artistic and collective exchange activities launched by the Organizing Committee of the working delegation such as a contest to learn about the sea and islands, a literary and artistic contest with the theme "Sea, islands and Navy soldiers", a trip reflection writing contest and an amateur photo contest, a chess competition; a fabric flower arrangement contest; a collective birthday party... thereby creating cohesion and mutual understanding among the members of the working delegation.
At the conference summarizing the working group, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Bong thanked the delegates for their valuable material support, but more importantly, the spiritual value, the sentiment, responsibility, and sympathy of the delegates for the military and people of Truong Sa, and the DK-I platform. These values will be spread throughout the country, to our overseas compatriots.
According to the head of the working delegation, this is a source of great strength, the spiritual potential of our people and country, helping Navy officers and soldiers feel warm and secure in carrying out the task of firmly protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
At the end of the working trip, the Navy awarded 12 "For the cause of protecting the sovereignty of the Fatherland's sea and islands" Medals and 154 "Truong Sa Soldier" Badges to the delegates; summarized the emulation movement of the raid "Solidarity, loyalty, achievements, determination to win" with many exciting and practical activities.
As a result, there were more than 90 works by 52 authors in many genres, of which 41 were selected to participate in the contest (21 poems, 3 songs; 27 articles of thoughts, memoirs and essays;...). The beautiful photo contest had 120 entries, many of which had creative artistic ideas and profound content.

Art competitions, competitions to learn about the sea and islands, chess competitions, flower arrangement competitions, etc. were organized seriously, creating an exciting competitive atmosphere, attracting a large number of delegates, officers and soldiers to participate.
It can be seen that the visit to Truong Sa helped delegates have vivid practical experiences, understand the difficulties, hardships and sacrifices of Navy officers, soldiers and people at the forefront; and gain a deeper awareness of the responsibility to participate in firmly protecting the sovereignty of the sea, islands and sacred continental shelf of the Fatherland.
