The determination of a 13-year-old girl with pituitary insufficiency makes many people admire her.
Student Luong Thi Chi Yen (2011), currently studying in grade 8, Chau Loc Ethnic Boarding Secondary School, Chau Loc commune, Nghe An province. Chi Yen's family has 6 members: father Luong Van Nam (1984), mother Vi Thi Hong (1979), eldest sister Luong Thi Ha Vi (2006), second sister Le Thi Hong Diep (2009), Chi Yen and younger brother Luong Minh Triet (2014).
Chi Yen’s family situation is extremely difficult. Despite her poor health, she is still smart and understanding. At the age of 13, Chi Yen is only 1m11 tall and weighs 15kg. According to the doctor’s diagnosis, she has hypopituitarism, which causes her to have frequent headaches, chest pain and stomachaches.
Mr. Luong Van Nam - Chi Yen's father was diagnosed with spinal cord inflammation in 2018. The disease caused him pain, weak limbs, difficulty walking, and he had to use a wheelchair for a long time. His health has improved after treatment, but he still has to take medicine every day and have regular check-ups every 3-6 months. Each check-up costs about 30 million VND, because many types of medicine are not covered by insurance.
From August 2024, Yen Chi will receive 1 million VND in support each month. Her family's main source of income is the small grocery store and the sticky rice and sweet soup stall that her mother sells every morning, which only brings in about 100,000 VND per day.
Chi Yen's eldest sister has just started working at an electronics company in Bac Ninh , her job is still unstable, she sends home 1 million VND each month to help her family. Because of her father's medical treatment, her family still owes the bank many years of unpaid debt.
Chi Yen herself is a sensible girl, she always studies hard with the desire to change her life. Chi Yen is good at English and dreams of becoming an English teacher so that she can teach children in her hometown.
Actress Bao Han hugged Chi Yen to encourage her. The actress said she was quite surprised that Chi Yen was already in 8th grade, small in stature due to illness but she still tried hard to study. She expressed her admiration for the understanding of the girl who had suffered many disadvantages early on.
Lam Vy Da cried because she felt sorry for the little girl who had to suffer many hardships early on due to her poor health. “I knew that when I came to the Vietnamese Family Shelter, I couldn’t help but cry, because the circumstances were so difficult, it was hard to control my emotions when witnessing. I tried to hold back, but when I heard Chi Yen say ‘parents are gold, silver to their children’, I really appreciated it. But usually that is what parents say to their children, but this is Chi Yen considering her parents as her entire fortune, which made me very emotional,” Lam Vy Da shared.
Dinh Manh Ninh expressed his admiration for the will of Ms. Vi Thi Hong - Chi Yen's mother, a hard-working woman who single-handedly takes care of her husband and children. The male singer gave many words of encouragement, motivating Chi Yen not to be self-conscious because of her illness anymore, he believes that Chi Yen's efforts will help her have a better life in the future.
Two orphaned boys live with their elderly grandmother in an old house.
That is the situation of Bui Huy Nam (2014), a 6th grade student at Quang Phu Secondary School, Quang Phu Ward, Thanh Hoa Province. His parents divorced early, and many years later his mother also disappeared. Huy Nam and his brother Bui Huy Minh (2011) grew up in the love of their father and grandmother.
Ironically, in January 2025, his father passed away just 50 days after being diagnosed with liver cancer. Since then, Huy Nam and his brother have lacked the love of both their parents and have been living together in the old house left by their father. The old house was dilapidated, damp and often flooded during storms. During the last storm season, the house was heavily flooded, so the two brothers had to move to their uncle's house. Out of pity for her orphaned grandchildren, Mrs. Le Thi Tinh (1953) moved in to live with them and take care of them.
However, she is old, in poor health, often has leg pain and is no longer able to work. The economic burden falls on the family of her uncle - Mr. Bui Huy Ut (1990) who lives right next door. Mr. Ut works as a motorbike repairman, his wife is a factory worker with a salary of about 4 million VND/month. He and his wife are raising 3 small children, now they have to take care of 2 grandchildren and an elderly mother, which is extremely difficult.
Despite their difficult circumstances, the two Nam brothers are very good and independent. They take the initiative to clean the house, cook, wash dishes and do laundry, not bothering their grandmother. Every time they mention their father, both brothers are very emotional. Now, both Huy and his brother want to grow up quickly, go to work early to help the family, take care of their grandmother and show their gratitude to their uncle and aunt.
Following the characters' circumstances, Hua Minh Dat could not help but be moved by the sympathy for Huy Nam and his brother. Nam's understanding of not being angry with his mother but always wishing her happiness made the male artist feel sorry. When talking to Huy Nam's grandmother, MC Lam Vy Da felt both pity and worry because she was old, had just experienced the pain of losing her child, and had to take care of her grandchildren in place of her child.
Singer Dinh Manh Ninh was speechless when he saw the image of Huy Nam and his brother hugging and encouraging each other in a house lacking in love. He felt sorry for the boy who had not had a complete family since childhood and had to go through the pain of losing his father before he could grow up.
Singer Dinh Manh Ninh encouraged the two brothers to try to overcome the losses and difficulties, continue to nurture their dreams of studying and have faith in the future.
