Gasoline prices were adjusted up at 3:00 p.m. on October 2.

Specifically, the price of RON 95-III gasoline (the popular type on the market) increased by 40 VND, to 20,200 VND/liter, E5 RON 92 increased by 10 VND, to 19,620 VND. Diesel and kerosene both increased by 380 VND/liter compared to 7 days ago, to 19,030 and 19,000 VND, respectively. Similarly, fuel oil increased by 170 VND/kg compared to 7 days ago.

Currently, E10 gasoline - a biofuel blended with 10% ethanol into mineral gasoline - is being sold on a pilot basis in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Hai Phong. This is the first step in the nationwide transition to green fuel, expected to start in 2026, to reduce CO₂ emissions, promote ethanol agriculture , and diversify energy sources. Some countries, such as the US, Brazil, and Thailand, have applied biofuel for many years. Thailand once set a goal of replacing all RON91 gasoline with E10 and E20, thereby forming a complete and stable biofuel market.
