Forecasts indicate that today and tomorrow, November 19th, the cold air mass will continue to spread, affecting all provinces in Northern Vietnam, North Central Vietnam, and some areas in Central Vietnam. Subsequently, the cold air mass will continue to affect other areas in Central and South Central Vietnam.

Due to the influence of a strong cold front, the northern provinces, Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An will experience rain, showers, and thunderstorms in some areas. Starting today, the weather in the North and North Central regions will turn cold; mountainous and hilly areas in the North will experience severe cold, with some high mountainous areas experiencing extreme cold, and some lowland areas in the North experiencing intense cold.

During this cold spell, the lowest temperatures in the northern plains and North Central region are forecast to be between 12 and 15 degrees Celsius, in the northern mountainous and midland areas between 9 and 12 degrees Celsius, and in some high mountainous areas below 5 degrees Celsius.

Today's weather forecast for Hanoi indicates cold weather, with some areas experiencing intense cold, and the lowest temperatures generally ranging from 12 to 14 degrees Celsius.

The strongest cold snap since the beginning of winter.

Mr. Nguyen Van Huong, Head of the Weather Forecasting Department at the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, said that this cold front that swept into Vietnam was the strongest since the beginning of winter.

A strong cold air mass is moving in a north-south direction, causing cold weather from the north to the south. In addition to the strong cold air, the North will experience rain on November 18-19, resulting in high humidity. Combined with the impact of the strong cold air mass, this will cause temperatures in the North and the provinces of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh to drop sharply.

"According to our forecast, the coldest days in the North and North Central provinces will be November 18-19. From November 20, the rain will decrease, and the North and North Central regions will experience deep cold at night and in the morning, with sunny days," Mr. Huong said.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Huong's assessment, it is predicted that in the four days from November 20th to 23rd, mountainous and midland areas of Northern Vietnam are likely to experience frost and hoarfrost.
