Dong Nai aims to become the region's eco-tourism center

After the merger, Dong Nai has an area of ​​over 12,700 km², a population of about 4.2 million people, including many famous landscapes. With the advantages and potential of ecotourism in forests, waterfalls, lakes; spiritual destinations, red addresses, famous landmarks, Dong Nai is promoting sustainable tourism development, aiming to become the ecotourism center of the region.

Possessing many advantages and tourism potential

Dong Nai owns two national parks (NPQG) Bu Gia Map and Cat Tien, famous for their unique forest habitats and biodiversity with rare species of animals and plants, along with Dong Nai Biosphere Reserve, famous forests. Stieng ethnic cultural conservation area in Bom Bo (Bom Bo commune), Ta Lai ethnic village (Ta Lai commune)...

Dong Nai is also famous for its impressive destinations, achieving domestic and international titles such as: Dak Mai waterfall at Bu Gia Map National Park (Bu Gia Map commune) was honored as one of the top 7 eco-tourism destinations with impressive landscapes in 2023; Cat Tien National Park has Bau Crocodile area recognized as one of the top 7 eco-tourism destinations in 2023. Notably, in 2024, Cat Tien National Park will be the 72nd conservation area in the world and the first national park in Vietnam to achieve the IUCN Green List title recognized by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

In addition, Dong Nai province also has many other tourist areas and spots in the top impressive destinations rated by tourists such as: Bo Cap Vang eco-tourism area (Dai Phuoc commune) in the top 10 most favorite eco-tourism destinations in 2024; Panorama Glamping destination (La Nga commune) recognized as the world's glamping destination in 2024; Tropical Eglamping destination (La Nga commune) recognized by the Luxury Travel Awards Organization as the world's glamping destination in 2024.

Or the destination of Chua Chan mountain, Ba Ra mountain is known as the "second" and "third" heavenly mountain (after Ba Den mountain, Tay Ninh province) is considered as the center for organizing sports and entertainment events, tours to explore the forest and wild nature of the Southeast region.

These potentials and advantages have attracted domestic and foreign tourists to Dong Nai, making Dong Nai province's tourism industry achieve many positive results. In the first 10 months of 2025, the number of tourists to Dong Nai is estimated to reach more than 4.6 million, of which domestic tourists are nearly 4.5 million and international tourists are nearly 119.4 thousand, reaching 88.6% of the 2025 plan. Tourism service revenue is estimated to reach nearly 3.4 trillion VND. It is estimated that in 2025, tourists to Dong Nai will reach 5.2 million; revenue will reach 3.9 trillion VND. The proportion of the tourism industry in GRDP services will reach 4.5-5%.

Effectively exploiting typical tourism products

To promote sustainable tourism development, aiming to become the region's eco-tourism center, the province has been synchronously implementing many key solutions.

Some agencies and units have proactively surveyed, built and effectively exploited typical local tourism products such as: source tourism, forest eco-tourism and weekend picnic tourism; spiritual tourism products associated with meditation instruction activities and volunteer tourism products associated with experiential activities.

To increase tourist attraction, tourism businesses in the province have focused on investing in developing tourism products and services with a total investment of about 540 billion VND. Dong Nai province is directing strongly to quickly start the province's key tourism project, Chua Chan Mountain Eco-tourism Resort and Entertainment Area (Xuan Loc commune), with an estimated investment capital of 16 trillion VND to improve tourism infrastructure, creating a new look for the province's tourism industry.

Tourism products continue to be invested and upgraded; some destinations. Cultural, sports and tourism activities are widely organized, attracting a large number of tourists, contributing to promoting the image of Dong Nai tourism. There is still a large amount of land for tourism development, which is also a favorable condition for the province to plan, attract investment, diversify products and expand the space for tourism development in the coming time.

In the coming time, the province will continue to focus on training human resources for the tourism industry, organizing survey delegations, discussing topics on building and developing new tourism products, promoting tourist destinations in Dong Nai; surveying and building tourist routes and spots connecting with Long Thanh Airport... to promote and introduce the potential and strengths of the areas, spots, tours, tourist routes, tourism activities and tourism services of the locality. At the same time, linking with major provinces and cities across the country to form links of tours and tourist routes of the Southern key economic region, combining with tourism promotion activities abroad to call for investment in tourism development and attract tourists.

With great potential, a new look and determination from the local government, Dong Nai after the merger is expected to become the center of eco-tourism and culture of the Southeast region.
