Mr. Tran Tri Quang has been appointed Chairman of Vinh Long province.

Mr. Tran Tri Quang (48 years old), Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, was elected to the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Long province, replacing his predecessor, Mr. Lu Quang Ngoi.

On the morning of November 18th, at the third special session of the 10th term of the Vinh Long Provincial People's Council (2021-2026), delegates voted to elect Mr. Tran Tri Quang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, as Chairman of the Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee, replacing his predecessor, Mr. Lu Quang Ngoi.

The results showed that 127 out of 128 votes were in favor of electing Mr. Tran Tri Quang as Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Long province.

The session approved the proposal to dismiss Mr. Lu Quang Ngoi from the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Long province. Mr. Ngoi was transferred by the Party Central Committee to participate in the Executive Committee and Standing Committee and hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee, and was simultaneously elected by the Ca Mau Provincial People's Council to the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province for the term 2021-2026.

In his acceptance speech, the new Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Long province, Tran Tri Quang, stated that in his new position, to successfully achieve the goals set forth in the Resolution of the First Provincial Party Congress, he and the Provincial People's Committee will focus on directing and managing the building of an honest, innovative, decisive, and people-serving government.

He emphasized that the focus would be on restructuring the economy in conjunction with innovating the growth model, creating momentum for breakthroughs; mobilizing all resources to invest in the development of synchronous and modern infrastructure and comprehensively developing cultural and social fields, improving the quality of human resources and ensuring social security.

"With the responsibility entrusted to me, and before the People's Council, the leaders, the people, and the voters, I constantly remind myself each day to be wholeheartedly dedicated, close to the people, attentive to the work, and effective. I will consider this as a benchmark for self-reflection and self-improvement throughout my work."

"At the same time, we must always maintain unity and cohesion within the Provincial People's Committee, promptly and effectively implement the tasks assigned by the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Council, and closely coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long province to create a combined strength and successfully complete all tasks," affirmed the new Chairman of the Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee, Tran Tri Quang.

Earlier on the afternoon of November 17th, the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee held a conference to announce the decision of the Party Central Committee on the transfer and appointment of Mr. Tran Tri Quang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province, to participate in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, and to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee.

Mr. Tran Tri Quang was born in 1977 in Cao Lanh City (now Cao Lanh Ward, Dong Thap Province). He holds an advanced degree in political theory, a master's degree in transportation engineering, and a master's degree in economic management.

Prior to being elected Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Long province, Mr. Tran Tri Quang held various positions, including Director of the Department of Transport, Secretary of the Cao Lanh City Party Committee, and Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province.

On March 28, at its 13th session, the People's Council of Dong Thap province (formerly) elected Mr. Tran Tri Quang as Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province.

Effective July 1st, following the merger of Dong Thap province with Tien Giang province (formerly), Mr. Tran Tri Quang was appointed by the Prime Minister to the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province (newly), for the term 2021-2026.
