At noon, after traveling nearly 20km, Ms. Binh (born in 1975, An Dong ward, Ho Chi Minh City) went to Thoi An ward to visit a cafe with a cool green space located under a grape trellis full of fruit.
Ms. Binh was introduced by her niece and invited to visit and take pictures with the vineyard. When she arrived at the shop, Ms. Binh was quite surprised. Because before that, she thought this was just a normal garden cafe decorated with fake grape trellis.

“When I arrived, I was very surprised and delighted to see that all the grapes here were real. The bunches of green, purple, and shiny grapes hanging from the trellis made me very happy. Looking at the grapes while enjoying the food in the airy space was really relaxing,” she said.
In addition to Ms. Binh, the restaurant continuously welcomes many customers. Not only young people, the restaurant attracts many middle-aged and elderly customers. In addition, the restaurant is also visited and experienced by many families with small children.

At the restaurant, visitors take advantage of the scenery and choose beautiful angles to take photos. As noon approaches, the restaurant becomes more crowded and bustling.
Taking her young child with her, Ms. Tu (35 years old) continuously took pictures with her son under the green grape trellis. The boy seemed delighted and excited when he got to touch the heavy bunches of grapes.
Ms. Tu learned about the shop from social media and was immediately attracted by the space here. She said that the shop satisfied her hobby of looking at bunches of grapes without having to go to vineyards in the provinces of Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan (old).

“I see my child is very happy when he comes here to play. I feel that sitting and enjoying specialties under the fruit-laden vineyard right in Ho Chi Minh City is a really interesting feeling,” Ms. Tu shared.
Customers want to pick the fruit
The cafe is owned by Mr. Le Van Hong (38 years old), and has only been open for about 10 days. Before that, Mr. Hong was a tour guide.
Through his career and travels to many places, he realized that most people bring their hometown specialties to Ho Chi Minh City to develop. Born and raised in Phan Rang - Thap Cham City (formerly Ninh Thuan Province), Mr. Hong had the idea of bringing his hometown's vineyard to Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Hong said the new vineyard was formed 6 months ago. Photo: Ha Nguyen
In 2024, when he found a suitable land fund, he decided to carry out his intention of growing grapes for visitors. The total garden area is about 2,300m2 but he has only planted 450 grape trees on 1,300m2 of land.
He grows 7 varieties of grapes including: candy grapes, bailey grapes, magic grapes, red finger grapes, green finger grapes, black finger grapes, peony grapes and passion fruit grapes.
When planting, he chose mature grape roots to shorten the time. After only 6 months, the tree bore fruit and could be harvested.
For the purpose of serving the needs of visitors, he planted the grapevines closer together so that the plants would grow densely. On top, he covered them with a transparent screen to protect them from the rain and to let in light and sunshine for the plants to grow.

Previously, a grape growing model for tourists was implemented in Ho Chi Minh City. To create a difference, Mr. Hong designed the garden into a cafe, serving specialties of the old Ninh Thuan region such as: grape juice, fish cake noodle soup, fish cake spring rolls...
In recent days, the restaurant under the vineyard full of fruit has attracted many visitors. After admiring and taking pictures, many guests have asked to pick fruit in the garden. However, Mr. Hong has not agreed.
He shared: “From Monday to Friday, the restaurant serves about 400-600 visitors/day. On the weekends, the number of visitors doubles, from 1,000-1,200 visitors/day.

The most common question and request I get is whether or not visitors can pick grapes in the vineyard. However, the grapes are not ripe yet so I do not allow visitors to pick them.
Later, when the grapes are ripe and of good quality, I will let customers experience cutting the fruit on the trellis. Customers can cut the grapes as they like and then bring them to the counter to weigh and pay.
However, right now, customers can buy grapes and apples at the shop with prices ranging from 160,000 - 200,000 VND/kg. These grapes and apples are purchased from Ninh Thuan province (old). The shop is currently open from 8am to 8pm every day.
