Visit and give gifts to teachers and students affected by floods

HNN.VN - On the morning of November 18, the Central Youth Union delegation led by Mr. Bui Quang Huy, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union, came to congratulate Vietnamese Teachers' Day on November 20 and visit and give gifts to children affected by storms and floods in Hue City.

At Dang Tran Con High School (Phu Xuan Ward), First Secretary of the Central Youth Union Bui Quang Huy presented a symbolic board of support of 300 million VND in cash and 3,000 sets of school supplies, worth 300 million VND, to children and people of Hue City affected by the recent floods.

In addition, the Central Youth Union also supported 50 million VND to help Dang Tran Con High School overcome flood damage and awarded 20 scholarships (2 million VND each) to 20 students of the school with difficult circumstances, affected by the floods.

On the same morning, the delegation also visited and encouraged Ms. Trinh Thi My Thuan, a teacher at Ton That Tung Secondary School (Thuan Hoa Ward). It is known that Ms. Thuan is in a difficult situation as she is living alone in a rented house, while her husband is working far away. During the recent flood, her rented house was flooded more than 1.3m deep, causing severe damage to household items.

In order to promptly encourage and share, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union Bui Quang Huy presented flowers to congratulate Ms. Trinh Thi My Thuan on the occasion of November 20 and supported 10 million VND to help the family rebuild their lives after the natural disaster.

First Secretary of the Central Youth Union Bui Quang Huy said: The gifts not only have material value but also show the affection, responsibility and companionship of Vietnamese youth in general and Hue City in particular.

Hopefully, this will be a source of motivation to help teachers and students of schools in Hue City continue to be steadfast in teaching and learning, and a source of spiritual encouragement for the city's youth and residents to soon stabilize their lives.
