Thousands of low-lying houses in Hue were flooded.

On November 17, thousands of households in the low-lying areas downstream of the Huong River and Bo River in Hue City were flooded, due to rising flood levels on these two rivers, above alert level 2 and above alert level 3, respectively.

Specifically, in Hoa Chau ward, many roads were flooded deeply to very deeply such as: Provincial Road 4 from Km3 - Km9 was flooded from 40 - 110cm; National Highway 49B from Km43 - Km46 was flooded from 10 - 50cm; Provincial Road 8 from Thanh Phuoc residential group to Thuan Hoa residential group was flooded from 20 - 30cm. In addition, in this ward, inter-residential group and inter-hamlet roads were flooded from 50 - 70m deep, accounting for 30%; flooded from 0.2 - 0.5m, accounting for 40%. Initial statistics show that Hoa Chau ward has about 779 flooded households.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Vice Chairman of Hoa Chau Ward People's Committee, said that in the face of widespread flooding, the Ward Civil Defense Command has directed relevant agencies and units to review response plans according to the "four on-site" motto; not to be passive and surprised in any situation; prepare forces, means, equipment, strictly maintain command duty, on-duty, combat readiness duty and rescue duty.

In Quang Dien commune, on the morning of November 17, the Bo River water level at Phu Oc station was measured at 4.96m, 0.46m above alert level 3, causing widespread flooding in villages near the Bo River, cutting off some roads, making it difficult for vehicles to move. In the commune, there are currently more than 2,200 houses flooded from 0.1 to 0.7m; 13/17 schools have flooded schoolyards and classrooms.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Cau, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Dien commune, said that in the face of flooding, Quang Dien commune has evacuated 13 households with 32 people; at the same time, directed the villages, especially the villages along the Bo River and some villages along the Tam Giang lagoon, to urgently evacuate 74 households with 89 people. Currently, the villages continue to prepare means and forces to promptly evacuate people according to the village's "4 on-site" plan.
