Attending the ceremony were Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang, representatives of several relevant Departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ms. Mio Ueda, General Director of NDN, Mr. Fujita Shigeru, Chief Representative of NDN Office in Vietnam, and representatives of the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang emphasized that NDN has a long history of close ties with Vietnam and is one of the first foreign press agencies to open a permanent office here. During the difficult period of the struggle for independence in the 1960s, NDN was the only foreign media agency operating in Northern Vietnam.

The agency's reporters directly recorded authentic images of the consequences of bombs and bullets and the resilient lives of the Vietnamese people, contributing to helping the international community better understand the truth of the war, while adding strength to the struggle for independence, unity and territorial integrity of the Vietnamese people. The Deputy Minister affirmed that NDN has also made great contributions to fostering and developing friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.

In the context of Vietnam entering a new era of development, the presence of NDN, a Japanese television station that witnessed the first Renovation in 1986, has special significance, as it continues to accompany and report on Vietnam's second Renovation.

This return and companionship not only demonstrates the long-term close relationship between NDN and Vietnam, but also affirms NDN's belief in Vietnam's future of dynamic development, integration and prosperity.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Fujita Shigeru was moved to say that the reopening of NDN's permanent office in Vietnam is a milestone of special significance for the company. He expressed his honor to continue the tradition that generations of NDN reporters have built in Vietnam since the 1960s, and affirmed his personal and NDN's desire to convey to the international public authentic, objective and comprehensive images of Vietnam. He affirmed that NDN will strengthen cooperation with Vietnamese authorities and press friends to truly reflect Vietnam's development achievements, peaceful foreign policy and contributions to the international community.

Mr. Fujita expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for creating conditions for NDN to reopen its permanent office in Vietnam; believing that press cooperation between NDN and Vietnam will continue to be strengthened, making practical contributions to enhancing understanding, trust and friendship between the people of Vietnam and Japan.
