Exciting Kon Tum Provincial Paragliding Championship (Expanded)

Athletes compete in two categories: precision landing and cross-country paragliding (XC). Notably, the cross-country paragliding (XC) event has been elevated to an international competition. Athletes participating in this event will accumulate points that can be used to qualify for other international competitions.

This is the third time the paragliding competition has been held, as part of the Kon Tum Province Culture and Tourism Week 2024 and to commemorate the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives at Hill 995 - Chu Tan Kra in the glorious battle of 1968.

Comrade Duong Quang Phuc delivered the opening speech for the Paragliding Competition.

According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Sa Thầy District, Dương Quang Phục, organizing the Paragliding Championship will help Sa Thầy become a national paragliding destination in the future due to its suitable geographical location. Furthermore, the location of the championship, being close to the Chư Tan Kra historical site, adds to the significance and value of this sporting event. It also provides an opportunity for the locality to showcase and promote its beautiful natural landscapes, culture, and people to tourists from within and outside the province. This will contribute to attracting investors and developing Sa Thầy into a safe and attractive destination, creating a springboard for the development of ecotourism and the exploration of nature, culture, and history.

Following the opening ceremony, visitors from within and outside the province enjoyed a Para Moto performance (motorized paragliders, flag hoisting, smoke release). Afterwards, the athletes began the first events of the competition.

The " Exploring the Great Forest - Sa Thầy 2024" paragliding competition will be held over three days, from March 22nd to 24th.
