Attractive 'specialties' at the 2025 Fall Fair

On weekends, despite the rainy and cold weather, the flow of people from all over the country to the National Exhibition Center (Dong Anh, Hanoi), where the Autumn Fair 2025 is taking place, is still very crowded. Most of the exhibition booths are crowded with visitors, everyone is excited to learn, explore and buy regional specialties at the booths in the Autumn Fair, a cultural and commercial space imbued with Vietnamese culture.

Since morning, the Fair area has been bustling with people coming and going. The bustling music mixed with the friendly greetings of the vendors, combined with the aroma of rustic dishes, created a lively and familiar picture. Hundreds of booths from all over the provinces and cities brought stories about the land, people and traditional occupations, with typical products. The agricultural product display area, Dien Bien booth stood out with typical products of the mountainous region such as shiitake mushrooms, rice noodles, Dien Bien rice, wild honey... Not far away, Phu Tho booth attracted a large number of visitors with Muong ethnic products such as rice wine, smoked buffalo meat... Not only buying goods, many visitors also lingered to listen to the sellers share about the origin and processing methods of local specialties.

In the Central region, the characteristic strong aroma of Hue fish sauce, the sweetness of Quang Nam sesame crackers and Hoi An rattan and bamboo handicrafts… make visitors amazed. In the Central Highlands, the bustling sound of gongs and the fragrant smell of roasted coffee make many people feel lost in the atmosphere of a local festival.

According to the Organizing Committee, the 2025 Autumn Fair brings together thousands of units, businesses, cooperatives and production households from typical localities such as Hanoi , Tuyen Quang, Hung Yen, Phu Tho, Bac Ninh, Quang Nam, Dak Lak... Each booth is designed with a strong regional imprint, displaying typical products, many of which meet OCOP standards (one product per commune, ward).

Not only coming to buy goods, visitors can also participate in unique experiential activities. At the Northern booth, many people are eager to participate in pounding green rice, learning to make tea or tasting Northwest rice wine. At the booth of Ha Giang artisans, visitors can see with their own eyes the ancient Shan Tuyet tea buds, hear about the journey of picking tea on the top of the high mountain...

Ms. Pham Thu Ha, a tourist from Hoang Mai ward (Hanoi) shared that she bought a package of Shan Tuyet tea because she heard the owner say that this tea was hand-picked from hundreds of years old trees. Each product has a story, making me clearly feel the love and effort of the craftsman.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc and his wife, from Bac Ninh, chose the Autumn Fair as their family's weekend destination. Mr. Minh Duc said he was surprised because the fair was very professionally organized, had many booths and was carefully invested. "My two children really like the book booth of Kim Dong Publishing House because there are many stories that they have loved for a long time. They also participated in games at the video game booth, watched cartoons at the Vietnamese cinema booth...

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, Mr. Duc's wife, said that she likes to come to the Autumn Fair because here she can buy many specialties from localities, from North to South. "I am attracted by the richness of simple hometown gifts from localities, from rice wine, shrimp paste, to the sophisticated OCOP products that localities bring to the fair to display and introduce. Today I took the opportunity to buy a lot of local products, because occasions like this are not many," Ms. Hong shared.

Carrying heavy bags of local specialties, Ms. Nguyen Lan Anh (Giang Vo ward, Hanoi) said that she and her daughter came to the fair early and bought many regional specialties, from Dien Bien rice, Cao Bang shiitake mushrooms, Hue sour shrimp paste, to Southern coconut candy, each item has its own flavor, like bringing the "regional specialties" home... Preparing to leave the fair, hearing the news that a group of artists and actors would come to interact at 5 p.m., Ms. Lan Anh and her daughter decided to stay and listen to the artists share about making films before going home, because it is not often that we have the opportunity to interact with famous people, Ms. Lan Anh happily said.

The fair is also expected to be a bridge for trade, trade promotion, tourism promotion and local culture promotion. The Organizing Committee hopes that the Autumn Fair will become an annual destination, contributing to encouraging the consumption of Vietnamese goods, supporting localities to bring specialty products and traditional handicrafts closer to the people of the capital and international tourists.

At the Autumn Fair, people not only "go to the market", but also immerse themselves in the folk art space, in the stories about the land and people of Vietnam. Many people coming to the Fair take the opportunity to take photos, record memorable moments next to the booths full of the flavor of their homeland... This is what makes the difference, turning the Autumn Fair into an "open cultural space", not only a commercial event but also a profound cultural and social activity, where each visitor comes and when leaving, brings with them a bit of the familiar scent of their homeland from many regions of the country...
