The MV “Victory – Bond in Vietnam” was filmed in many locations on Ha Long Bay, including Cat Oan beach and Dragon Eye island, two locations that have never been exploited for tourism services and are strictly preserved.
Oan Sandbank is located in the World Natural Heritage of Ha Long Bay, about 30km southeast of Tuan Chau International Port, and is likened to a Maldives in the bay. Oan Sandbank has many adjacent sandbanks. The largest sandbank is a sandbank emerging in the middle of the sea, with two ends blocked by two ranges of rocky mountains. Waves gently hitting the sandbank in a gentle arc from both sides of the sea create a very unique landscape. From this sandbank, you can walk along the foot of the rocky mountain to the adjacent sandbanks right next to the mountain.
Cat Oan is quite far from the ports, and at times it is subject to strong winds and waves. This place has so far retained its pristine beauty, and has never been exploited for tourism or any other services.

Dragon Eye Island or Bai Dong Island is located in the south of Ha Long Bay - Quang Ninh , located in the south of Ha Long Bay, near the sea adjacent to Lan Ha Bay. This is one of the Ha Long tourist destinations with extremely impressive, unique and majestic natural landscapes. With a clear blue beach, fine white sand, cool primeval forests, clear lakes, steep cliffs...
Dragon Eye Island is 30 hectares wide, completely wild and has no tourism, entertainment, or accommodation services...
Mr. Nguyen Thuy Duong, Chairman of IB Group Vietnam, said that the production crew was able to film on these two pristine islands thanks to the great support and facilitation of Quang Ninh province and the Ha Long Bay Management Board.
MV director Phu Tran said that the production crew's wish was to film at the most pristine natural location in Ha Long Bay. Cat Oan Beach and Dragon Eye Island met that criteria, beautiful and pristine, but because of that, filming also encountered many difficulties.
“As far as I know, no film crew has filmed in this area yet, because the terrain here is very complicated to work on. Our desired image is the entire Bond group performing floating on the sea. In order for a band to appear and perform right on the water, we had to calculate very carefully, how to ensure the safety of the whole band on a stage submerged in the middle of the sea” – director Phu Tran said.

Dozens of tons of equipment were transported to these locations and installed, but without affecting the ecosystem and underwater and terrestrial environments of the area.
“This is a heritage site protected under the UNESCO convention, so the construction and transportation are extremely complicated and must meet strict environmental protection conditions. Another difficulty is performing at sea, but must be extremely safe, because Bond requires that the musical instruments not be affected by sea water. We have closed the stage floor and when the tide is high, it is about 35cm higher than the stage. We have to wait for the tide to go down to ensure the filming is successful,” said Mr. Nguyen Thuy Duong.
At Cat Oan beach, where the sand scene is very beautiful, according to the schedule, the crew will film the girls performing under the sunset. Mr. Nguyen Thuy Duong said that the schedule and movement must be calculated to match every minute. "We filmed all day outside, but how could we get back to Cat Oan in time to catch the sunset. But in the end, because the scenes had to be filmed many times, so when we got back to Cat Oan beach, the tide was already high, the big ship could not enter, the crew had to carry the Bond girls into the scene" - Mr. Nguyen Thuy Duong said.
When filming finished at Cat Oan, it was dark, around 7:30 p.m., the crew had to take the Bond girls to the ship by basket boat.
