The spoon has a broad, strawberry-shaped base and a round handle decorated with spiral motifs. At the base, two finely carved lines intersect to form a cross, dividing the base into four quarter-points. Photo: @Manx National Heritage Agency. Although its exact purpose remains undetermined, Allison Fox, archaeologist at the Manx National Heritage Agency, believes it may have been used in rituals to predict future events.
