According to Gaming Bolt , after becoming PlayStation Studios' most successful launch on the Steam game distribution platform, the cooperative shooter Helldivers 2 has achieved an enviable number of concurrent players since its release.
Just one day after nearly reaching 200,000 concurrent players, Arrowhead Game Studios' Helldivers 2 officially surpassed this significant milestone. At approximately 2 PM on February 14th, the number of concurrent players peaked at 203,644, according to SteamDB statistics.
Helldivers 2 reached over 200,000 concurrent players.
The online cooperative shooter game, released on February 8th on both PlayStation 5 and PC, quickly sold around 1 million copies. Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt stated that sales far exceeded the company's expectations. The total number of concurrent players on both platforms has surpassed 360,000, and this number is likely to continue to grow.
However, the overwhelming number of players has caused some server issues, with many experiencing difficulties claiming rewards and logging in. Arrowhead is actively working to resolve the issue, but Quickplay mode is currently not working, and joining other players' lobbies requires multiple retries.
Looking ahead, Helldivers 2 will receive updates with new content such as objectives, ecosystems, enemies, and free story updates, but the detailed roadmap has not yet been revealed.
