Nhot 2 village is one of seven villages in Gia Phu commune that has officially received electricity from the national grid. With a newly built and integrated transformer station, it will provide stable electricity to 32 households by the end of 2025. Mr. Dinh Trung Tuyen, Party Secretary and Head of Nhot 2 village, happily shared: "Previously, the 32 households, which were relocated, did not have their own electricity lines connected to the national grid. They shared electricity, resulting in unstable voltage and difficulties in daily life and production. When the rural electrification project was announced, the villagers were very enthusiastic, unanimously agreeing to donate land, contribute labor, and cooperate in the construction of the project as quickly as possible. The village management board actively propagated and encouraged people to raise awareness of safe and economical electricity use, serving their daily lives and production well."

The rural electrification sub-project from the national grid in Son La province, implemented in Gia Phu commune, involved the construction of a new transformer station, ensuring electricity supply for hundreds of households in the villages of Nhot, Nhot 2, Suoi Duong, Gia Phu, Ban La, Na Mac, and Ban Chat. To date, the sub-project has been completed, providing electricity to 100% of the households within the project area.
Ms. Vi Thi Kim Cuc, Head of the Economic Department of Gia Phu Commune, shared: "The rural electrification project has created positive and comprehensive impacts on the locality. Access to the power grid helps people transition from manual production to the application of science and technology, increasing productivity. Socially, a stable power supply improves people's spiritual lives, allows them to access official information, and ensures security and order in the area."

Son La Power Company is implementing two sub-projects to provide rural electrification from the national grid in Phu Yen and Bac Yen districts of Son La province. These projects involve new investment and upgrades to the power grid in the communes of Suoi To, Gia Phu, Huy Thuong, Muong Coi, Bac Yen, Ta Xua, Chieng Sai, Pac Nga, and Xim Vang. The total scale of new construction includes over 7 km of medium-voltage power lines and 11 transformer substations, ensuring electricity supply for 1,954 households.
Mr. Pham Hong Toai, Head of the Project Management Board of Son La Power Company, said: The implementation of rural electrification projects faced many obstacles due to the complex and fragmented terrain and the impact of natural disasters, rain, and floods. In light of this situation, the Board directed the construction units to mobilize maximum manpower and equipment, determined to ensure the progress and quality of the projects. To date, the rural electrification projects have been completed on schedule.
By successfully implementing rural electrification projects, Son La Power Company has played an active role in achieving the goals of the Resolution of the 15th Congress of the Son La Provincial Party Committee, term 2020-2025. By the end of 2025, all 75 communes and wards in the province will have access to the national power grid, with 2,232 villages having electricity, reaching a rate of 99.96%; 312,717 households will have electricity, reaching a rate of 99.5%, contributing to improving the quality of life and helping ethnic minority people in the highlands to settle down, produce, and build a prosperous and beautiful homeland.
